I agree 100% will all of your posts on this thread. Thanks, for helping me keep my sanity! I can't believe all of the "Bush needs to ....", "The Administration needs to .....", etc. comments.
No matter what they do, there will be MSM trying to twist, confuse, and distort what they say - along with the Dems. They'll be looking for another "16 words" that no matter if they are 100% accurate, can be jumped on by anyone with a beef with the Admin. and turned into something negative ..... Nothing the Admin. says or does will be repeated or passed on without distortion. It will only give the MSM more energy.
The folks at NR and NRO sure can send negative arrows the WH's way - but are useless in doing anything positive. Kristol isn't even worth mentioning. With "friends" like him ..... As you say, nothing is keeping him from sending out the positive reports he seems to be waiting on the WH for, except that his columns wouldn't get the attention then.
AND - I'm getting tired of the "conservatives" all waiting for the WH to do something about our pitiful Senators. Why can't people understand that our Senators seem to think it's their job to impede the Admin.? It makes them meaningful (to themselves). People who can, need to hound their Senators to SUPPORT THE ADMIN. and to get all their fellow conservatives and Republicans to do so.
Right now, there is no Senator I would vote for for President. When one steps up and aggressively SUPPORTS THE ADMIN I VOTED FOR - I'll think about it. But, so far, their weak performance is pitiful and we, and the President we voted for, deserve better.

Actually, impeding a runaway House (democracy running amok) or an imperial executive branch is exactly the job of the Senate and always has been. That is why they have so many rules designed to stymie hasty action. It's why they advise and consent on ambassadors, cabinet members, the judiciary and the various undersecretaries and heads of federal agencies.
Somehow, Republicans see the virtues of this more clearly when the WH is in Dim hands.
Personally, I urge my senators to pay attention to voters in our state, to follow their instincts, and to ignore the MSM. I don't have too many complaints about them.
