Richmond Rally with President Bush

It was reported the Kilgore was trying to "distance" himself from Bush and that Bush was a "liability." Apparently not.

So far as I know, the Kilgore campaign has never wanted to distance themselves from President Bush. The President has been at the Summit of the Americas and is stopping by Richmond on his way home. He's been in Virginia as have Dick Cheney, McCain (Veterans), Guiliani, and Laura Bush for fundraisers. The new Rassmussen poll has the President's popularity in Virginia the same as it was on Election Day one year ago, 53%.

Rasmussen: President Bush has 53% Job Approval in Virginia (He will Campaign with Kilgore on Monday)

Also one year ago, the WashingtonComPost and the Kerry campaign along with Governor Warner were all making the case that Kerry was going to win Virginia and it wasn't even close. The media were all in a frenzy as they are again this year. Kerry and both Clintons have been in Virginia campaigning for the Dem candidate. None of those three is popular here and should have frightened off voters rather than attract anything of significance.

Campaign Wrap: A Forthright Conviction Politician: Jerry Kilgore Is the Man
ROSS MACKENZIE
Richmond Times-Dispatch
Sunday, November 6, 2005

In person, one-on-one, Jerry Kilgore is at ease. Here, as in public, he is a conviction politician. He believes.

< SNIP >

A warm-up speaker at one of the stops describes Tim Kaine as a "proud liberal." Kilgore responds, "I am the conservative running for governor, and I am proud of it." And so, in this conservative state, what Virginia's voters hear from Kilgore is what they'll get. Kilgore notes repeatedly that he is running on his record, and Kaine is running away from his. [Kaine is doing the John Kerry flip-flop routine trying to minimize his liberal record].

Kilgore's record as a local and federal prosecutor, as George Allen's secretary of public safety, and as attorney general reflects his aggressiveness on gangs, domestic violence, cross-burnings, and sex offenders. This campaign is not, and should not be, about which candidate has been more negative -- for both have been equally so as circumstances have required. Rather, it is about taxes, the death penalty, guns, and illegal immigration -- and as Kilgore is generally right on those issues, so Kaine is generally wrong.

< SNIP > [details of Kaine's liberal record here]

AT WOLFIE'S barbecue brew-pub in Charlottesville, Kilgore termed himself "a trust-the-people conservative." Senator George Allen raised the ante -- calling Kilgore "a Jeffersonian conservative who trusts free people and free enterprise." Kilgore cast the election as a choice between Virginia's conservative mainstream and the liberal extreme. He said the election boils down to a single word -- trust: Which candidate will the voters trust to say what he means and to do what he says?

Kilgore is forthright -- and forthrightly in tune with the majority of Virginians' values. He trumps Kaine on a broad array of issues central to this campaign. He hails from a region of Virginia closer to seven other state capitals than it is to Richmond -- and boasting no son as Virginia's governor since, oh about the 1930s. It's time for a governor from Virginia's Southwest. It's time for a governor running a campaign based on sincerity and conviction, as opposed to glib deception.

This is the time indeed. And Jerry Kilgore is the man.

Thanks for the ping.

I can't make it to see the President tomorrow night. BUT, I stopped by local HQ to pick up my poll watching packet.

From what I saw, if that type of activity is going on all over the Commonwealth...there was a constant line for tickets to the see the President and at least a dozen volunteers working on GOTV efforts...then I'm confident about our momentum going into Tuesday.

Don't stop until the polls close!

And not 'til a good bit after if you can get away with it...

Me, too! Were you in on the statewide conference call? We're ready for any voter fraud shenanigans the Dems try to pull! We had a room FULL of lawyers flown in from all over the country to supplement our Fairfax contingent. Dems better behave!

Not only is that momentum building, but, the democRATS are well aware of it, and they are scared to death. They know what is going to happen to them in 48 hours, and they are helpless to do anything about it.

hehehehehe

VOTE FOR KILGORE, BOLLING & MCDONNELL !!!
