WASHINGTON Ambassador Joseph Wilson's attorney is demanding Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely retract a statement he made to WND that the man at the center of the CIA leak case "outed" his own wife as a CIA employee in conversations more than a year before her identity was revealed in a syndicated column.

If a new one hasn't been started by the time Bachelor's program airs on the 7th, I'll do it. Bachelor is a very good interviewer. I gotta get some shuteye.

Have you read #271 on this thread? John Batchelor has a talk show on WABC at night. He interviews a series of knowledgable people about world events - very instructional stuff.
FRee, you're the one who originally broke the news about Joe Wilson's big mouth in green rooms, sure hope you can join us.
Seems Fox News could clear this up real fast!!
Did Wilson & Vallely appear together in the pring of 2002?
Gee, who should we believe?
Yep, real tough choice.
I think he was just trying his best not to screw up his media appearances, after having screwed up the war he commanded.
How the hell did Clark ever advance to full General? Did anyone on FR ever find that out?
Vallely and McInerney have pay records (they were Fox consultants at the time). McIneney says he has over a hundred visits there (IIRC) in that period).
Great, was Wilson there at the same time(s)??
Both generals say he was there on a number of occasions.
I believe the Generals!! BUT, if FOX could confirm that they were both there at the same time - he's toast.
It's something that he has gotten far too much mileage out of since he has since proved to be a whining leftist hack. He uses a media blurb for all of his appearances which repeats ad nauseum that the first Pres. Bush supposedly called him "an American hero" because right after Saddam invaded Kuwait in Aug. 1990 around 150 US citizens were being held hostage in Iraq. Wilson was the #2 in the US embassy there, the Charge-d'Affairs or whatever they call it, and the Ambassador was out of the country, so he was the de facto Ambassador and negotiated the release of US citizens. It's not clear to me that he did anything that wouldn't have been done by ANY US diplomat who happened to be on the scene, demanding the release of US citizens, but because of the Pres. Bush 'hero' remark he has been able to pretend now that he is a real American rather than a TRAITOR serving the interests of France, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia.
Bingo, Rogue. Now I gotta tell you, and my pals here that there is some sort of cognitive dissonance going on here. The MSM is talking about nothing else but how horrible it was that old Valerie was outed.
The only guy who ain't innerested is Fitz. All he's innerested in is nailing The Scooter to the cross... and embarassing Cheney, who will have to testify if this ever hits a courtroom.
How could that be?
These may impact Valerie's assignments:
Aldrich Ames: Arrested 21-Feb-1994 by the FBI. Outed a hundred or more US agents to Moscow.
1994-1999 Valerie Plame is moved back to the U.S. for protection because of the Ames scandal.
February 2002 Valerie lobbies with the CIA for Joe Wilson to travel to Niger.
Spring 2003 - Valerie poses as a headhunter:
"My mom takes a message from a headhunter named Valerie Plame with an “energy company” called Brewster-Jennings. Weird, I’ve never heard of Brewster-Jennings, but the name Valerie Plame sounds strangely familiar. I decide not to return the call. I don’t want to work for an energy company. It takes me a couple of weeks before I remember who Valerie Plame is."

November 30, 1999 - One of Valeries classmates is rolled up in Moscow and deported:
"Cheri Leberknight is arrested by the FSB in Moscow for spying and subsequently declared persona non grata. I see the news reports which result and immediately recognize her name and picture. Later news reports mention that she was seen frequenting a Moscow night club called Galereya where she would frequently take patrons to the bathrooms and perform fellatio on them and try to obtain information."

From the above the line of Valerie's early work might be assumed.
...but to pat myself on the back, AFAIK I was first to post re Vallely's report (that Wilson blabbed that his wife was CIA):
Vallely: Wilson told me 'my wife is CIA' in 2002 [my title]
The John Batchelor Show ^ | 11/03/05 | (my summary of radio report)
Posted on 11/04/2005 10:44:45 AM EST by shhrubbery!
Batchelor's show airs late at night in the east, and I didn't have access to a computer while Vallely was on air Thursday night.
But the next day, Friday morning, I did a search on FR and was surprised not to find anything --at least in not in a thread title search.
IMO Vallely's report was blockbuster news. It had to get into print asap.
So I wrote up my own summary of what I'd heard Vallely say. The above thread is what resulted.
Did WND see it here first? And then call Vallely for confirmation?
But maybe I give myself too much credit. [slapping self for the sin of tooting own horn]
Goog Gawd. I don't even want to know what she did before CIA. One thing- I wouldn't necessarily give credence to
Russian "news reports" re her roomie.
"John Batchelor has a talk show on WABC at night. "
So, he is an actual journalist, of the radio variety? Seems he's certainly not a leftist urinalist.
Batchelor is a writer. He's written a few novels, and some years ago wrote a history of the Republican Party.
Not sure of his journalistic credentials before he got his WABC radio gig (but who cares? journalistic credentials are a crock anyway).
Don't get your hopes up, though. Batchelor's show is serious and informative, but you have to take some of his guests with a very large grain of salt -
- the always hateful Katrina vanden Heuvel
- the semi-loony and often-wrong John Loftus
- the Scottish socialist and Bush-hater John (?) Robertson
- the leftist spinner Michael Vlahos
- among others.
And Batchelor himself, though an Iraq war-hawk, is a self-described "liberal Republican."
I listen most nights because there's almost always something interesting going on there.
BUT Batchelor is a very non-confrontational interviewer, and lets his leftie guests spew lies undisputed. So sometimes I get so annoyed I have to turn it off.
Did you here Vallely on Hannity this afternoon? He said in 2002 Wilson was on FOX about 36 times and he was on a couple of hundred times... he recounted their conversation and he also said that he received a call from Wilson's attorney Saturday evening to cease and desist followed up by a FAX that included copies of a FAX from Wilson to his attorney -- which they followed with another telling them to destroy the first fax because it contained client information.... very amusing and I guess World Net Daisy already has copies of the fax.
