Sounds like it is time for a REAL investigation into the CIA's activity's. Right along with this reporter and whomever gave her this information.

This is nothing short of treason.

Anything to look bad...

Unless these prisons violate every international law that exists, there is nothing bad about them. They don't look bad. They are necessary and just. As an American, I want to know what my government is doing to protect me. I see nothing wrong with the disclosure of these sensible prisons.

Of course you are right, but who's going to launch an investigation? Certainly not lily-livered Republicans. Maybe Republicans wouldn't be on the defensive so often if they went on offense just for a change. Heavens knows they have enough ammo if they would only use some of it.(Not holding my breath.)

Agreed. It sounds to me that this might be some backlash against President Bush's appointment of Porter Goss. I hope that Goss roots out whoever's been working against the official policy of the US Government (which would be the policy if the legally elected President), as opposed to the way certain people in the agency believe the policy should be!

And then, move on to Foggy Bottom and clean house there! Does anyone else remember the quote about how President Bush had "hijacked" US foreign policy? Foreign policy IS the Presidents! How can he hijack it? Besides, for as long as I can remember, and even before (through books I've read, since I'm only 43) the US Department of State seems to have completely lost it's way. It was supposed to be a department that represented the will and interests of the US to the rest of the world. However, especially since the 1930s and 1940s, it's represented forein interests to the US. And of course, sone of those foreign interests have been communist. But even without that, they've been more supportive of foreign interests than US interests. And in some cases, they've just been down-right anti-American!

If nothing else, the Bush Presidency should be an example for any future presidents... As soon as you take office, clean out the leadership at CIA and State! Otherwise, you might find that they're actively working against the interests of the US.

Mark
