Democrats Push Big Lie About War
Human Events ^ | Nov 4, 2005 | Allan H. Ryskind

President Bush lied us into war and the revelations produced by the Scooter Libby indictment only confirm this terrible scandal.

That’s the essence of the vicious slur Democrats are hurling at the GOP these days, with Minority Leader Harry Reid (D.-Nev.) shutting down the U.S. Senate to dramatize the charge.

The White House, as the Democrats would now have it, had virtually no evidence that there were weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in Iraq, but the President, Dick Cheney and their gang were so intent on removing Saddam from power they invented facts. And when critics such as Joe Wilson spoke truth to power, the “Scooters” in the administration slimed their reputations.

Unpatriotic Mud-Slinging

The episode involving Libby and Wilson, summed up Reid, “is about how the Bush White House manufactured and manipulated intelligence in order to bolster its case for the war in Iraq and to discredit anyone who dared to challenge the President.”

This is unpatriotic mud-slinging, with a touch of Black Helicopter looniness tossed in. To believe that the White House concocted a fable about WMD in Iraq, you would have to believe in a massive conspiracy involving not only the Bush people, but both Bill Clinton’s and George Bush’s CIA director, George Tenet; Bush’s first term secretary of state, Colin Powell; Clinton’s secretary of state, Madeleine Albright; Clinton’s key NSC Persian Gulf adviser, Kenneth Pollack; and numerous WMD experts at the United Nations.

How many people, for instance, know that Wilson himself, the Democrats’ big stick to beat up on Bush, believed that when the war began Saddam had weapons of mass destruction?

“I was convinced before the war that the threat of weapons of mass destruction in the hands of Saddam Hussein required a vigorous and sustained international response to disarm him. Iraq possessed and had used chemical weapons; it had an active biological weapons program and quite possibly a nuclear research program—all of which were in violation of U.N. resolutions.” Joe Wilson July 6, 2003

If the GOP had any balls, they'd put together ads showing what all these same dems were saying back in 1998 and 1999 about Saddam, including Clinton.

The ad should ask "Were all these people lying about Iraq too?"

Too bad Bush doesn't have the balls to defend himself.

How would he know? His wife saw raw data? Did Wilson come to these conclusions based on classified information obtained from his WMD CIA wife?

I recall right after 9/11, Senators Kerry, Levin and Clinton pubically stated Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. Maybe others can remember other Democrats who took the same position.

If were are led to believe President Bush lied, then these Democrats lied to us. Surely, someone in the MSM will point this out to Senator Reid.

The Democrats keep repeating the lie: "Bush lied!"

Nevermind that countless others--including conspicuous Democrats--said the same thing. They ignore this; it serves Democrat propaganda to do so.

It's straight out of the Hermann Goering Propaganda Handbook.

Yes, The Rats are lying the MSM are pushing the lies and it seems to having its intended effect on the President's popularity ratings and poll numbers.

There is nothing new about this. The Rats always lie and the MSM always supports their lies.

Lincoln was also very unpopular during long stretches of his Presidency. What matters is that the President keep up the pressure on the Muslim militants and we get the job done in Iraq. If he does that, the President will go down in history as a great man and a great president. If the Rats force us to abandon Iraq and it ends up being Afghanistan under the Taliban write large, the President will go down in history as a complete failure.

What infantile babble! EVERYBODY (yes, the Clintons, the Kennedys and John Kerry - all) agreed to a regime change in Iraq.

Now selective and malicious amnesia takes over. Liberals are lying criminals!

Those who say Bush “lied us into war” based on “manufactured” intelligence are either ignorant or malicious. Either way, they are dangerously undermining whatever chance we still have of rescuing Iraq from chaos and catastrophe.

They are malicious. They seek political power at the expense of the people and nation they wish to control.

Just because it's not their turn, they run around screaming "neener neener neener" with their hands clamped over their ears like a spoiled 4-year-old.

Truth? What Truth? They don' need no STEEENKIN Truth!

"The cause of the French intifada is the arrogant self-confidence of the Muslim immigrants"

I agree with you. What about the self-superior arrogance of the French over the past couple of decades?

The Democrats don't care al long as they believe the media will not publish their lies.

And, unfortunately, the Whitehouse and Bush, are the only ones that could set the record straight.

I just don't understand how someone can take such a lambasting and not stick up for themselves.

Very disappointing.

Since the MSM chooses to facilitate the Dems in their collective "Big Lie', some 527 group needs to be funded. Its mission would be to put some concise but easily viewed and understood ads during prime time, highly-rated shows -Commander in Chief springs readily to mind as do all the NFL games. And it should also take full-page Sunday print ads in (sadly) the NYT, LA Times, USA Today and papers of wide distribution. Take the truth back to the the Democrat whores but also include copy accusing the MSM of carrying only one side of the story - Fox News is a pleasant exception.

This is unpatriotic mud-slinging is nothing more than well scripted PROPAGANDA.

"“One of the senior people put a question to the group. Did anyone in the room doubt that Iraq was currently operating a secret centrifuge plant? No one did. Three people added that they believed Iraq was also operating a secret calutron plant (a facility for separating uranium isotopes.)

“Other nations’ intelligence services were similarly aligned with U.S. views. Somewhat remarkably, given how adamantly Germany would oppose the war, the German Federal Intelligence Service held the bleakest view of all, arguing that Iraq might be able to build a nuclear weapon within three years [without outside fissile material]. Israel, Russia, Britain, China and even France held positions similar to that of the United States.”

Stand tall with this President, praise him for his courageous efforts in the WOT; fight back against the anti-war/anti-Americans whose propaganda is dangerously close to destroying freedom. The MSM & MSP are full of mendacious reporting, and the polls some love to report are not to be trusted. President Bush is doing an incredible job in spite of constant propaganda saying otherwise.

With the able assistance of the self-hating, anti-American leftmedia, who is happy to give them all the free TV time and newsprint that they can use.

Traitors, every damned one of them. Doom on them all.
