Actually, that's not so.
If a reporter asks, "Have you heard that Wilson's married to some lady named Plame?" then I would say "yes" or "no."
Her name isn't what is classified or covert (although, Plame was not covert at the time.)
The close-hold information would be her job with the CIA.

All any reporter had to do who wanted to know the name of Wilson's wife was to look up his entry in Who's Who...that's how Bob Novak learned her name. By itself that information is uninteresting..it's only the information that she worked for the CIA that makes it interesting, and the entry didn't state that.
