I didn't know Charles was around when these cities were layed out. Obviously, you don't know about Christopher Alexander or Pattern Language.

Charles is a supporter of Andres Duany, not a heavy-equipment operator, but he was, in fact, "around" when the charettes for the planning of Kentlands took place and played a very active role in Poundsbury, which was built on the lands of his Duchy of Cornwall. For perhaps the third time: I make no claims that he is a carpenter, heavy-equipment operator, or architect, only that he has been a valuable advocate for livable traditional housing of this sort.

I have, of course, read about Pattern Language, like any other amateur of architecture. Your have not yet clarified your point.
