The great legacy of Jimmy Carter is embodied in this poster boy for judicial tyranny.
Joshua Herring writes.
In that decision, Judge Stephen Reinhardt, writing for the court, stated: "We hold there is no free standing fundamental right of parents 'to control the upbringing of their children by introducing them to matters of and relating to sex in accordance with their personal and religious values and beliefs."
Continuing, Judge Reinhardt said: "We conclude only that the parents possessed no constitutional right to prevent the public schools from providing information on [sex education] to their students in any forum or manner they select.'"
I cannot believe what we have come to as a nation--as a people.
The day Terri Schiavo left this world, when I first heard the news I had a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach that wasn't quite like anything I've ever experienced before. Although I had many days to prepare for what increasingly appeared to be inevitable (involving an outright atrocity by government), as I gazed out the windows of the sliding glass doors in my study, I honestly wondered if I would ever be able to recapture the same sense of patriotism and love of country that has always been so much a part of my heart. Yep, the impact of what they did to Terri on this preacher--and American citizen--was just that dramatic. Now I see this taking place in our schools, and of course you know--this means war!

Hey! At least Joshua Herring gets it! How terrible it is that our judges don't!
