It's true. That's putting it mildly. Everyone's been duped, and everyone knows it. The best way to deal with it is to go ahead and realize that the joke was on us; and we've been fed a lot of BS.
Too often people, when they realize they've been duped, think they'll spare themselves some embarrassment if they don't admit it in public. So they go into denial. The most effective form of denial is to hide the pain of being duped behind blind loyalty to some leader - who they wish was all powerful.

So true,WSC!! Stubbornness and pride contribute to their denial. What's wrong with not knowing, it's the beginning of learning.
