I'm having a bit of a problem with your statement that St. Mark, one of the authors of the New Testament, was smuggled out of Alexandria in a pigskin through a "rabid muzzie mob."

I'm a bit fuzzy on the dates, but IIRC, the New Testament was written by Matthew, Mark, Luke and John not more than a century after our Lord and Savior ascended into Heaven; that would put it, mas o menos, around 150AD. The false god of islam didn't rear its ugly head from the Arabian desert until about 632AD, if my posters from Saudi Arabia are to be believed.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

If one believes the Venetian, they removed the body of St. Mark from Egypt to St. Mark's Cathedral in Venice during the Crusades a thousand years after the Saint's death. That is, in Muzzie times. Hence the pigskin 'transit envelope' for the Saintly relics.
