A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Florida and THE SOUTH have surely had their share of torment and problems as a result of Mother Nature the past couple years. Our resident satirist, JohnHuang2, who resides in Southern Florida has NOT missed the bullet and following Wilmas visit, is awaiting power & ability to contribute with us again.
Needing a replacement for this Thursday, the Sistahs wisely went to the deepest political thinker on the FRee Republic Forum, DollyCali (cough, cough, choke, choke
as a nose somewhere is growing)
Lets see, shall we analyze Meirs withdrawal? Reids most recent rants? The Scooter indictment? Charles & Camilla's visit to US? Alitos selection for SCOTUS? POTUS trip to Asia? The 2000th death in Iraq? The de-throwning of Anne Coulter? The Condi 08 movement?
?????
Naw, lets consider something REALLY important.
A baby squirrel.
Yes, this will be a hot bed of political discussion. Should survival of the fittest been permitted to happen? Will this woman, Debbie, be a wildlife law breaker and be charged with various violations of local statues? Will the libertarians have an opportunity to demand local ordinances as these be eliminated? Will Michael Moore make this into a movie? Who will play the baby squirrel? Who will play the wicked squirrel mother, who threw the squirrel out of the nest? Will the cancer ridden rescuer have her last days with cancer in jail? Will Hospice be permitted to visit? Will the dog breeders of America shout BAD WOMAN!? Will the baby squirrel now need therapy to realize he is NOT a dog? Will the dog pups no longer follow their nature & not chase squirrels? Will the Papillon Association of America with draw Giselles pedigree?
But the key question:
Will peace activists tell us that this is a lesson for the US & terrorists
Cant we all just get along????
Well, wonder if any of us has any clue what will be the fate of Finnegan? Will he be content to play with the dogs? Will his inner instinct drive him to his own kind? Will he look for a mate in the dog world (pleasing the libs)? Will he work for the Park Service?
Or will his aspirations be a bit higher? Well, here is an idea
.

Dolly, I want to thank you also for your concern about my MIL. You, of all people, know the challenges of caring for an elderly loved one. :-)

I know this is difficult on you & Jeff. One beautiful thing here about FRee Republic - It is a conservative political forum.. but FOR ME it is the opportunity to connect with others who are compatible... whatver that might mean.
there are many here with parent concerns.. caregiver, responsible child, etc.. Lysie, Neets, Snugs, iowa granny; bevlar; Mama_bear, just for starters.
I gain strength JUST BY KNOWING others are sharing the journey of experiments, the frustrations of life, the guilt of bad deeds & the hope of God's help.
I cant help but think there are hundreds, if not thousands of FR readers here who might benefit from a cargeiver support group type thread. Many of us, including yours truly could be thread facilitor/moderator... just a thought.
Life is difficult & we need our Christian / in tune friends along the way to be our support, encouragers & friends.

The streets are still lined with tree trunks, light poles and other trash but it's getting better.
We had tornados in the 100 MPH winds. We have 6 pine trees up-rooted in the yard. Only one hit the house. Too many weren't so lucky. The people across the street had to move out and the house next door (where the squirrel/Weinie poisoner lived) got three trees on the roof and a lot of damage.

I keep getting sidetracked with other things and phone calls, and have never gone back to say how glad I am your m-i-l is adjusting well to the assisted care living facility.
Even with a caregiver living with her in her own home, that person cannot be glued to her side 24/7, and there always is considerable risk. It's nice for you to relax and know she has a social stimulus and activities, if she wants to participate in them.
In addition, her nutritional neeeds will be met, lessening your concerns, and they can spot and tell you about possibly significant changes in her.

Possibly.
Male mice emit high frequency chatter to female mice.
It supposedly sounds like a bird song..
