A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Florida and THE SOUTH have surely had their share of torment and problems as a result of Mother Nature the past couple years. Our resident satirist, JohnHuang2, who resides in Southern Florida has NOT missed the bullet and following Wilmas visit, is awaiting power & ability to contribute with us again.
Needing a replacement for this Thursday, the Sistahs wisely went to the deepest political thinker on the FRee Republic Forum, DollyCali (cough, cough, choke, choke
as a nose somewhere is growing)
Lets see, shall we analyze Meirs withdrawal? Reids most recent rants? The Scooter indictment? Charles & Camilla's visit to US? Alitos selection for SCOTUS? POTUS trip to Asia? The 2000th death in Iraq? The de-throwning of Anne Coulter? The Condi 08 movement?
?????
Naw, lets consider something REALLY important.
A baby squirrel.
Yes, this will be a hot bed of political discussion. Should survival of the fittest been permitted to happen? Will this woman, Debbie, be a wildlife law breaker and be charged with various violations of local statues? Will the libertarians have an opportunity to demand local ordinances as these be eliminated? Will Michael Moore make this into a movie? Who will play the baby squirrel? Who will play the wicked squirrel mother, who threw the squirrel out of the nest? Will the cancer ridden rescuer have her last days with cancer in jail? Will Hospice be permitted to visit? Will the dog breeders of America shout BAD WOMAN!? Will the baby squirrel now need therapy to realize he is NOT a dog? Will the dog pups no longer follow their nature & not chase squirrels? Will the Papillon Association of America with draw Giselles pedigree?
But the key question:
Will peace activists tell us that this is a lesson for the US & terrorists
Cant we all just get along????
Well, wonder if any of us has any clue what will be the fate of Finnegan? Will he be content to play with the dogs? Will his inner instinct drive him to his own kind? Will he look for a mate in the dog world (pleasing the libs)? Will he work for the Park Service?
Or will his aspirations be a bit higher? Well, here is an idea
.

well, if you had to pick 3 movies.. they were good ones..
I love to have "big girl" overnight PJ parties.. and we stay up & sip adult beverages, giggle, mindlessly chatter & watch movies.. in one night we see more movies than you have since 1980!!!!!

LOL! This was fun. ;-) I can't remember how I got started...maybe Jonny remembers. Was it the birthday squirrel picture? Anyway, I usually check out the FR's finest when you ping me, although I don't usually post. But tonight was right up my alley!

I am in process of rethinking/redoing my profile pages into sections/cross referenced pages rather than one LONG monologue..
& with HTML..
the movie section will be my FUN "hi light".. I have so many movies I have enjoyed over the years. so many I can recommend for various tastes, dispositions..Some how I think I am destined to be a long term invalid so I can revisit my love & viewing of movies until the Lord calls me
Let me know if you have any interest in recommendations for whatever situations/interests arise..

Arsenic and Old Lace
Harvey (I named my beta fish after Harvey :-)
Saw all of them on tv, and will watch them when they are scheduled to be on :-)

the stars (Jodie foster & Anthony Hopkins) made this movie more powerful than it might have been. As a psychologist who has NOT dealt with the really weird types, I found it intriguing & scary at the same time.

I have to tell you my "tale of woe" on It's a Wonderful Life. Did not see it for the first time until 1990.
the setting.. it was new years eve.. In the past 2 weeks... My dad died, I separated from my husband, decided to close my successful commercial real estate business & go to a chaplaincy residency & was moving from the sunny south to the dreary north (in winter).
My date for the evening was an interesting/nice man..(fixed up by one of my seminary profs) we were at the home of one of my grad school profs & it was a small group.
Two days later my date committed suicide.
The movie since has left me cold

I checked out that site. Then I googled Kent State 1970. I'm naive to that incident. I have to read more because what I read, I'm not sure if it was slanted.

That was the text from my press conference I held in downtown Buffalo, right in front of county hall.
2 TV channels came out and filmed it, the other guy with me that helped me put the whole thing together is a long time freeprer Mr K.
He worked for the county with 2 other guys and watched all the corruption, couldn't take it and quit.
That was the right thing to do, I have now been accused of grandstanding, really, like I would stick my neck out for the hell of it.
An elderly lady just called me and we talked, she said all the corruption here reminds her of the old soviet union, sad isn't it.
When all is said and done, and hopefully a full investigation will insue there will be indictments. Millions have been spent on faulty computer programs to one company on a no bid contract.
Win or lose, we have done the right thing and all the cops are on my side. They know I am right, it is their computer system that has been messed with.
Thanks Billie.

tis okay.. the prof who fixed me up & I afterward had a lot of exchanges. He particulary felt responsible for not detecting the "signs"(which we all know aren't always there)... I have been in contact with a lot of death over the years. As a hospice chaplain & a hospital chaplain in cancer/aids units.. it is part of the life cycle. It is just that as a super movie enthusiast .. that is one movie that I am "COLD" on...and I know the reason.. etc. that was the purpose in sharing w/you

the site I linked was on the black squirrels. If you are not familiar w/the Kent State shootings , it is worth reading (realizing most of what you read will be slanted via the MSM)
the poor national guard was threatened & I believe they did the right thing in firing. I am alway POd at protesters who think they can do whatever they wish without repruscussions

From what little I read so far, that's what I was thinking. Protesters thinking they can do whatever they want regardless of the law. The law cannot be enforced and they cannot protect themselves without being persecuted. What I read was definitely slanted and I came to that conclusion by how it was written. The accusal piece. You just confirmed that. Thanks Dolly!
The black squirrels are beautiful. :)
