Thai's are fiercely proud people. Thailand has never been colonized. Look what "toxin" did about drug dealers in the capital. He had a shoot on sight policy (whacked a few thousand of them in a couple of weeks) that was working splendid until he knuckled under to international pressures.
I think Thailand is at the breaking point now with the infection called Islam.
