Interesting editorial. It speaks of rich diversity and laments the loss of a female seat. With such haughty comments, the editorial board should be compelled to identify their affirmative-action members who contribute to the rich diversity of the news pages. Since half the population of any city is women, one would expect that the high minded editorial board would be comprised of half men and half women.

Certainly the board would be compromise if it doesn't contain at least a single black affirmative-action member. The board should come clean - it's the least it could do.
