Headline on Drudge's front page. The link to story wouldn't work for me.
UPDATE
AARON BROWN OUT AT CNN
Wed Nov 02 2005 15:43:11 ET
To: All CNN Staff
From: Jon Klein
We have made some programming decisions which will impact our prime time schedule as well as our colleague Aaron Brown. Aaron will be leaving CNN and is very much looking forward to some well-deserved time off with his family.
Aaron has made enormous contributions to CNN since his groundbreaking anchoring of Sept. 11th through the war in Iraq to the Tsunami to the recent hurricanes. Outside of the big stories, on a nightly basis, Aaron has provided our audiences with insight into the events of the United States and the world with eloquence and the highest journalist integrity.
Besides his stellar work as an anchor, Aaron stands as an absolutely brilliant writer, evident by the thoughtful perspective he injects into every story he touches.
Personally, I will miss Aaron and his wicked sense of humor. We cannot thank Aaron enough for the skills and professionalism he brought to CNN. Given his respect throughout the industry, there is no question that he will be missed.
I can almost hear the flushing sound.
I haven't seen him for a while but he is good.
That guy was awful. Never could watch more than 10 seconds of him.
Guess his newspaper headline subscriptions ran out!
What took so long. The guy is like somanex.
ROTFLMAO!
Can hardly wait to hear what Larry King will say, IF anything.
That butt-kissing to Aaron every night made me sick...lol.
His boss explains that they fired him because of his "eloquence," "highest journalist integrity," "stellar work as an anchor," "absolutely brilliant writ[ing]," and "thoughtful perspective."
His boss adds, "I will miss Aaron and his wicked sense of humor," and concludes by praising his "skills" and "professionalism."
So, now we understand why they fired him.
Or, as our esteemed mhking (courtesy ping, Mike) would say, "used food." :-)
Oh, Lord.... that reminds me she was part of the panel on Russert's Saturday night show last week... hardly recognized her -- until she opened her mouth and the same old stuff spilled out.
I like Anderson Cooper, so if the others are beyond help I'll probably tune to Anderson.... and yes, I know he's gay, but he is a pretty reasonable journalist compared to most of our choices -- I'll take him over Joe, Gretta or Paula any day.
Who will miss his smirk and nasal voice? Maybe his mother, if she was still watching his lethally dull show.
You better believe it! I tried to tell him, but he didn't appreciate the conservatives out there telling him he was blowing it... wonder if he's figured it out yet? He was #1 on the network for a long time, so this was a huge drop and indicative of how much of his audience was not liberal.
He'll have Anderson Cooper's scrawny little butt to kiss now. LOL
~LOL~
Heh, there was a series of "Jeopardy" shows a few months ago that featured famous newspeople/talking head contestants, including Anderson Cooper.
Most of them were surprisingly dumb, especially Tim Russert and Maria Bartiromo.
Anderson Cooper did very well, though. So did Peggy Noonan, whom I despise more than Aaron Brown. (They're both smug, and Peggy's politics are better; but she just grates...yechhhh.) Ari Fleisher was the smartest contestant.
Watch, CNN will announce that Mary Mapes is the new anchor!!
They needed another insufferable leftist swine who was not quite as dull as Aaron Brown, and someone said, "gee, our friend Mary Mapes has just written her whitewash of the Rathergate scandal and should be available....."
fwiw, I always thought that aside from his miniscule intellect and bland manner that Aaron Brown had to be the DULLEST human being I have ever heard speak..... but maybe that's just me! :^)
Never even heard of him. I watch FNC.
Too bad. He's one of the main reasons CNN's ratings are in the gutter. In that sense, he'll be missed.
