The Democrats have welcomed him back because he's drifted over to the Far Left. He may have have been small-minded and incompetent as President but there's no doubt he considers America as being incapable of true greatness. Who can forget his infamous "malaise" speech as President. It said all every one wanted to know about Carter's worldview. The American people couldn't wait long enough to boot him from office after one lousy and totally forgettable term as our nation's Chief Executive.
