IT'S OFFICIAL: 2005 WILL BE the newspaper industry's worst year since the last ad industry recession. So began an article from yesterdays Media Daily News. Sadly, 2005 is shaping up as the industry's worst year from a revenue growth perspective since the recession impacted 2001-2002 period, says the report from Goldman Sachs, adding a warning that meaningful growth in 2006 is very unlikely."
The problem? Ad revenues, which continue to grow by a meager 1 percent nationally. By contrast, online newspaper revenues are forecast to grow by 25 percent next year.

Since the same intelligence used by Bill Clinton and EVERY sitting Democrat Senator in 1998 to justify bombing Iraq was part of the Bush Admin's Intelligence Brief in 2003, please explain to me how "Bush lied" and They ALL did NOT? If anyone LIED to us it was Bill Clinton and the Democrat Senate Leadership when they developed this Intelligence in 1998. One it was in file on Iraq, no one was going to go back and VERIFY what they inherited from the previous Admin was factual. After all, did we NOT have a history of NOT politicizing Intell? Seems the Clinton corrupted EVERYTHING they touched. So when can we expect the letters of resignation from ever member of the Democrat Senate Leadership over this "lie"?

Guess what happened a year ago today? :)
He'll open with the 1 1/2 tons of radioactive material airlifted out of Iraq...

Howdy...wurkin' and lurkin'
We have carefully reviewed our options under the rules and believe we have identified the best approach. Our plan is as follows:
1) Pull the majority along as far as we can on issues that may lead to major new disclosures regarding improper or questionable conduct by administration officials. We are having some success in that regard.
For example, in addition to the President's State of the Union speech, the chairman [Sen. Pat Roberts] has agreed to look at the activities of the office of the Secretary of Defense, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, as well as Secretary Bolton's office at the State Department.
The fact that the chairman supports our investigations into these offices and cosigns our requests for information is helpful and potentially crucial. We don't know what we will find but our prospects for getting the access we seek is far greater when we have the backing of the majority. [We can verbally mention some of the intriguing leads we are pursuing.]

Isn't it ironic that the place is full of people from the political party that kept Rosa Parks and all other blacks on the backs of busses for decades? That's perverse. Once again, the democrat party gets a pass and it's slave owning, cross burning, anti-civil rights anti-desegregation history is ignored. The democrats are the ones that she had to fight against to move to the front of the bus, and now they're so sad that she's dead. Makes me want to puke.
The truth is inconvenient for liberals. It tells them things they don't want to know. They're the culture of corruption, they're not trusted, they're a minority, and most Americans are unhappy after democrats have been in charge for a couple years. They mess up a good thing everytime they get a hold of it.

I am getting very leary about these reports that the newspapers are dying. After hearing about this for the last couple of years, I am wondering when will the Obituaries be posted in regards to the newspapers.
The thing to watch is the advertising revenues. I discussed this with a friend here in Silicon Valley. He said that Google is attracting the advertising revenue that is usaully spent with traditional newspapers and that might be the stake in the heart of newspapers.
Whatever kills the newspapers, lets hope its real soon.
