Pro-life student expelled by Catholic school
Renew America ^ | 11/1/2005 | Matt C. Abbott

How's this for an outrage?

In Sacramento, Calif., a pro-life high school student, Katelyn Sills, has been expelled from an allegedly Catholic high school. The reason? It appears to be retaliation: Sills' mother, a pro-life activist, recently exposed a teacher at the school who acts as a Planned Parenthood "escort." That teacher was subsequently fired by Bishop William Wiegand.

I guess this is also another case of a student's weblog getting them into trouble, but I can't believe a Catholic school would expel somebody for being a pro-life activist.

How is this is not discrimination based on beliefs?

"allegedly Catholic high school."

This line makes the whole article suspect.

Something doesn't sound right. Surely there's more to it than that.

"allegedly Catholic high school."

This shows the TRUTH since to be be pro-abortion or anti-life is NOT Catholic.

So IF this school expelled a student for being pro-life/anti-murder then the school is only ALLEGEDLY Catholic - it is more like a secualr-humanist school

"allegedly Catholic" -- the author only means that this is a Catholic high school that appears to not actually follow the teachings of the Catholic Church. I don't see how that makes his article suspect.

Trying to find anything on her blog that would justify expulsion...She reads Harry Potter, her family farms organically, she list her astrological sign and animal... i don't see anything serious.

We don't why she was expelled. They just fired a teacher for volunteering for escort duty at Planned Parenthood - they can';t be too pro-choice.

Actually the BISHOP had to order her to be fired. The pricipal seems to have wanted the teacher to stay.

They just fired a teacher

My understanding from other stories is 'they' didn't fire the teacher. The Bishop ordered the teacher fired. There was no indication that the school administrators had any problems with the pro-abortion activist that they hired.

Perhaps the Bishop needs to work on the problem a little bit more.

I missed that part, thanks.

They did that AFTER being ordered to do so by their Bishop.

There must be more to this story. It doesn't make sense.

the Bishop fired the teacher - the school expelled the student.

In the past there would be no question - but in today's American belief system, it would not surprise me to see homosexual activists in charge of the school in direct opposition to the True Catholic Church.

That is also why of capitalized *IF* since the details are unknown at this time

Previous thread on the same topic mentioned the student pipassed the school administrators and went straight to the Bishop. Bishop had teacher removed. School administrators expel student for bypassing them. They could have protected their own and now are taking it out on the student that stood up for the values the Catholic school should be supporting.

I did not realize when I posted that the Bishop had intervened and that the teacher firing was not school initiated. I had assumed that the Bishop was the person already in charge of the school.

A guy my husband worked with years ago volunteered as a planned parenthood escort to meet girls. I guess he figured they'd be easy.

Actually, it makes far too much sense to Roman Catholics these days. I'd bet my eye teeth that this story happened just as Mr. Abbott wrote it. The nun/principal is probably a power mad feminist who had little objection to Mz. Bain's activities. Our faith is being held hostage by the misfits and sexual deviants who flooded the priesthood and religious after Vatican II. I'm hoping the Bishop stands up for this little lady and for the most basic tenets of the faith.
