Healey tuition remarks draw outrage She takes a swipe at undocumented By Raphael Lewis, Globe Staff | November 2, 2005
Lieutenant Governor Kerry Healey set off a firestorm of protest yesterday when she suggested that children of undocumented immigrants who cannot get in-state tuition rates at Massachusetts' public colleges should ''go to private schools" instead.
''Let them go to private schools if they want to," Healey said on WRKO radio. Moments later, she repeated: ''Let them go to private schools."

Adios! I wish I knew the Spanish translation for "don't let the border gates hit you on the way out."
"No deje las puertas de la frontera le golpean en la salida."
We fought off this stupid idea 6 months ago and it's back. Our legislators have nothing to do but put up crappy legislation. Then, our chief law enforncement officier of the state (the AG, who's running for governor) backs illegal aliens. This is so incredibly outrageous. I'm still frothing over it.
I hear they re-instituted hanging people as witches for talking that kind of sense up in Kerry/Kennedy land.
I thought it was against the state constitution to reintroduce the same legislation in the same year?
Since Tom Reilly is in violation the USC 1324 section 8 by lobbying for In-State Tuition for Illegal Aliens and the law allows civil suits by private citizens, I have encouraged my MASSGOP state committee woman to instigate such an action.
"How about the firestorm of pissed off citizens who shut down the phone lines to the AG's office?"Maybe there is some sanity still left in Mass? How do those two duds(Kennedy/Kerry)manage to get re-elected to office yr after yr?

I'm a little confused: Does the controversy concern the children born in the United States to illegal criminals or children who have illegally entered the county with their criminal parents? If the children were born here, then they are U.S. Citizens and should receive in-state tuition. If the children are also illegal, then let them go to school in Meheco.
Excellent question, Labyinthos! The controversy involves 'children' (18 year olds) who have illegally entered the country with their parents and who have lived in MA for more than 3 years. They're hard-working, don't you know?!
They must promise to work on getting the proper paperwork ;-)
"undocumented immigrants" is a whoredom of the two words in a feigned effort to ascribe a false sense of legality to those who are better known and more accurately described as "ILLEGAL ALIENS".

Excellent! The rats will find a way to escape the trap, however...
It's more than just children. Apparently there is a loophole in the bill that would allow any illegal (no age limit) who has a Massachusetts high school diploma OR "the equivalent thereof" to receive in-state tuition.
As Howie would say, Reilly and the Legislature are just doing it "for the children."
The floodgates are open.
That's swell </rolling eyes>...
I can't believe people keep re-electing these idiots.
