Diana would be amused. Her successor and former rival, Camilla Parker Bowles, failed spectacularly in her attempt to wow Manhattan society with her sartorial splendor last night.
Dressed in an unflattering Anthony Price navy velvet frock with a fussy oversized chiffon collar, the Duchess of Cornwall arrived at a chi-chi cocktail party looking more like an escapee from the choirboy pew of Westminister Abbey than the guest of honor.
Earlier, Camilla caused quite a stir when she chose an eye-popping raspberry suit for her visit to Ground Zero.
We predict an "off-with-their-heads" ruling to come down on the core team who were supposed to create the "Camilla Chic" glamour on this trip..... and "a secret dresser," whose identity is fast becoming a gag in fashion circles.

I have yet to hear HRH sing the glory of Islam, yet as a future monarch he has the responsibility to represent all his citizens, even the catholics that the whole country will be burning effigies of on November 5th! Britain as a country also has a responsibility to most of the worlds muslim countries as their borders were drawn up by us under the auspices of empire, yet still the muslim population of the UK is less than 3%. What we must all remember is that muslims are not the enemy, terrorists are. For all muslims to be branded enemy because of the acts of a few of their brethren is as ridiculous and counter-productive as for me to brand all Americans terrorists because a few idiotic ones supported Irish terrorists in their murder of soldiers and democratically elected politicians.

The Monarch is Defender of the Faith, that is, Defender of protestant anglicanism. That excludes catholics, jews, muslims, hindus etc.
Charles has already said that he intends to be 'Defender of the Faiths' to reflect the wider range of religious beliefs in the UK and to encompass the catholic, the jew and the muslim amongst others.
One question: When did this government do any such thing?
If Charles comes out with a high-handed remark like that, his royal butt can scoot right back to Britain, and we won't hold the screen door for him. (Unless he's too dumb to do it himself.)
That's probably because, unlike the royals, they aren't German.
