Our 8-year old daughter has subscribed to the magazine for a year now and looks forward to every issue. I gently discussed with her the Girls, Inc. issue, and although she is disappointed, she agrees that she no longer wants the magazine or the dolls. I'm very proud of her.

I'd love it if American Girls stopped its support of Girls, Inc., but it doesn't seem as if the company is interested. Perhaps they will be interested when there bottom line is affected.

WOW! That is awesome. God bless you and your daughter for being willing to stand up to evil. This won't be the last time she will have to say "No"! What a great start at such a young age.

I too have a 7 year old who just recently went downtown with her grandma to pick out a doll for Chirstmas. They went Nov. 20th (prior to knowing about this issue). She then came home from school a week later saying a friend at school said not to buy American Girl because they give money to kill babies. She was devisted! She immediately called her grandma and said “We have a problem!” and explained the terrible news. My daughter decided that she wanted to take the doll back (she’s been wanting one for 2 years!) She didn’t want her grandma’s money going to kill babies. (or help support) I explained the hole thing to her. How that they give money to a group that supports abortion. My daughter did find another option. She is going to get a Life of Faith Doll. I am so proud of her too. I’ve emailed American Girl and my mother-in-law has called to voice her opinion and was hung up on. She didn’t do it in a rude manner just letting them know she would be returning the doll if they were in fact contributing to Girls Inc.

What a shame for American Girl not to retract. Bath and Body Works did. They were selling the bracelets and pulled them.
I'm just glad these little girls aren't afraid to stand up too!
