MD,
Hug your pets 25 times a day...the end comes so quickly.
Yes,it truly was a miracle that we were home today and together to hold her to the end...this is what has kept us going today. I sense and appreciate the hug so very much.

Crabbie, several of us on this thread have cats, and there is no question we dearly love our kitties. My ornry little gray girl refuses to listen and jumps on my back and up to my shoulders almost daily. She snuggles as close as she can to my face, purring like a baby. Hubby and I have already talked about how difficult it would be for us if anything were to ever happen to her. Your pain is understood and felt here too. Of all the cats we've had through the years, only one, a black and white male named Sylvester died in my arms. I cried like a baby for the longest time thereafter whenever I thought of him. Hoping you do better than me on that front.

Snip from a sermon: "When Jesus was born, the traditional stories tell us that there were animals there - as God became human. The child was visited by the simple shepherds and by educated and sophisticated magi. Jews and Gentiles came to pay him homage. In such a story is the heart of our vision for a new world in which the old distinctions, the old oppressions fall. In the coming age of God, all the isms of race, gender, even species will fall away - and all the earth - all creation - in every part - will be made new. It is for this that we wait in Advent and for as long as it takes."
