Reporters among fatalities in Tehran plane crash

MNA, Tehran, 06.12.2005 -- A number of reporters and filmmakers are among those killed in a plane crash in southern Tehran which happened this afternoon, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) reported.
Reporters from the IRIB, IRNA, ISNA, and Fars news agencies have been killed in the incident, IRIB said.
A C-130 military aircraft with 84 passengers and ten crewmen on board crashed into a ten-story building as it tried to make an emergency landing minutes after take-off at Mehrabad airport.
The planes destination was Bandar Abbas in southern Iran.

Exploding pens injure three at SoCal high schools
EL MONTE, Calif. Authorities are trying to find out who placed booby-trapped pens that have injured three people at two Southern California high schools.
The pens were lying on the ground at Rosemead High School and El Monte High School and exploded when people pulled off their caps.
Victims suffered minor burns and scratches on their hands and faces.
A detective with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's bomb squad says the devices may be home-made.
