The riot starters, non-English speaking /non-citizen barristas and extreme liberal / hateful of conservatives mentalities of California are driving people out of the state in droves.
Snip: Californians were not just moving into Colorado. Eleven of the 50 states reported more Californians moving in than residents of any other state, and Colorado ranked behind six other states as a destination for Californians who were moving out. Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Arizona and Colorado among other states have absorbed many of these migrants with consequent impacts on their economies.
Snip: When things go wrong in Montana, chances are its some Californians faultat least thats what many of us in Montana assume. When property values get too expensive for average folks, its got to be because of all those people moving here from California.
Snip: For the first time since the federal government began tracking such things, more people have moved out of California to other states than have arrived from the other 49. The moving vans headed east and north represented a net of 775,000 people who gave up on California, according to reports Wednesday from the Census Bureau.
Despite that, the state's population is up, the Census Bureau says, thanks to in-state births and people moving to California from other countries. Between 1990 and 2000, California's population rose to just under 33.9 million. The number of foreign-born residents increased by more than one-third to almost 8.9 million.
Your report on the population of California is interesting and bears up the things that I have heard or figured out.
The Californian's move in, then start installing the very liberal laws that ruined california.
They build a nice home next to an old dump, then want the old place removed.
It is all the discord there, underneath the surface, that is boiling and looking for an outlet.
I fear that Tookie will be the spark that will start it.
In 3 years they drove the median prices of homes up about $300,000. dollars, sounds good, but it has raised the taxes to the point that people who retired to Las Vegas can no longer afford to live there.
I expect the same to happen here.
Heh, we Oregonians founded that movement. We've been blaming those damn Californians for wrecking our state for at least the last 30 years. :)
As our late governor Tom McCall said:
We want you to visit our State of Excitement often. Come again and again. But for heaven's sake, don't move here to live. Or if you do have to move in to live, don't tell any of your neighbors where you are going.
