The report on the 9 am ABC radio news, was the same.

Don't forget that most pilots are ex-military pilots and know what a missile looks like.

We also know that the word is out that al-Qaeda has missiles.

The last 2 ABC news radio reports talks of a piece of the facade on the Supreme Court building, that has fallen and barely missed hitting a group of tourists that were entering the building.

Bosnia: Haven for Islamic radicals?
By Nicholas Wood International Herald Tribune
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 2005

SARAJEVO A police raid last month on an apartment near this city's airport uncovered evidence of an imminent
suicide bombing, intensifying the fears of Western security services that Bosnia is becoming a haven for Islamic
radicals.

The raid, which was carried out after an extensive surveillance operation by the Bosnian police and Western
intelligence services, turned up an arsenal of weapons in the apartment, including suicide vests, about 30 kilograms,
or 65 pounds, of exploding bullets and high explosive, and a machine pistol.

Investigators said they also found a videotape in which three men - at least two of them teenagers - are seen asking
forgiveness from God for their "sacrifice," a recording made just hours before the raid. The two teenagers were
arrested.

Subsequent investigations by the Bosnian police have led to the arrests of three more men, all Bosnian citizens,
whose identities have not been revealed. Two of them were arrested on Nov. 19 and accused of providing support
for the group.

The third was detained on Nov. 24 and charged with supplying explosives. The police said they had seized 10
kilograms of explosives kept by the same man in a forest in Hadjici, outside Sarajevo.

The weapons seizures and arrests, most notably of the two teenagers found in the apartment in the suburb of Ilidza -
a Turk who had been living in a Muslim community in Denmark and a Swede of Bosnian heritage - have provided
government and international officials here with evidence that a terrorist cell was working in Bosnia.

They have also shed light on a complex web that stretches well beyond the Balkans and that security services fear
could threaten Western Europe.

Diplomats and international officials close to the investigation describe it as a series of overlapping networks, in
which young Muslims from Scandinavia have been recruited as possible suicide bombers and sent to Bosnia.
Government officials here say the group in Bosnia used the former Yugoslav state as a staging ground for attacks
elsewhere in Europe.

"All the indicators show that Bosnia is a territory where they can come and rest, organize their activities and then go
and carry out" an attack elsewhere, Dragan Mektic, Bosnia's deputy security minister, said in an interview.

The police have accused two of the Bosnian suspects with planning an attack in "internationally protected property,"
a commonly used law-enforcement euphemism for an embassy. But senior Western diplomats and Mektic said there
were no indications that the target of the Ilidza cell was in Bosnia.

The surveillance began in late September, Mektic said, and focused on at least 10 people, some of them from the
region, others Bosnian passport-holders with ties to the Middle East. During that time, five of the people rented the
apartment in Ilidza, as well as rooms in a house in Hrasno Brdo, a rambling hilltop suburb of Sarajevo.

When the police finally moved to make arrests, they captured only three of the 10. The third person - who was not
on the suicide tape - had rented the Ilidza apartment on the others' behalf. He was dropped from the investigation.

The potential for Bosnia to become a terrorist base has long been a concern of security services in Europe. The
1992-1995 conflict here ripped apart Bosnia's Muslim, Serbian and Croatian populations, opening the way for
weapons' smuggling and organized crime.

The religious and ethnic overtones of the war attracted, at a minimum, dozens of Muslim fighters from the Middle
East, many with experience fighting the Russians in Afghanistan, who brought with them the influence of radical Islam.

Many of those fighters settled here and married Bosnian women. They have remained largely at the margins of the
Islamic community. While more conservative, they have not had a significant impact on Bosnia's Muslims, who by
and large are moderate in their religious outlook.

Periodically, former fighters and others who came to Bosnia to help Muslims have been placed under investigation
by Western and Bosnian security services, which claim to have thwarted several terrorist attacks as a result.

In January 2002, six Algerians living in Bosnia were accused of plotting an attack on the American Embassy in
Sarajevo. No evidence of the alleged plot was made public, and a Bosnian court dismissed the charges and ordered
the men released.

But the Bosnian government, under pressure from the United States, transferred them to American custody. They
were flown to Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, where they remain.

Bosnia gave passports to more than 800 former fighters and aid workers from the Middle East. Both the United
States and Saudi Arabia have accused Bosnia of giving passports to known terrorists, sometimes under aliases.

Few details have been revealed about those believed to be coordinating the Sarajevo group, but Mektic and
international officials close to the investigation say that Bosnia's liberal passport policy as well as its porous borders
made it appealing as a terrorist base, despite the presence of several thousand European Union-led peacekeepers.
The process of obtaining passports has been made more stringent over time.

"The flow of people, narcotics and other materials is very difficult to break," said Jonathan Ratel, a prosecutor in the
department that deals with organized crime in Bosnia's State Court.

The background of the two men in custody has helped investigators make connections between the operation here
and the rest of Europe.

Abdulkadir Cesur, 18, and Mirsad Bektasevic, 19, were arrested in the raid near the airport. Both had traveled to
Bosnia three weeks earlier, according to Bosnian border police records, and had come from Muslim communities in
Denmark and Sweden. Cesur is Turkish but has Danish residency, and Bektasevic left Bosnia at the age of 6 and
became a Swedish citizen.

Acting on phone records, a senior international official close to the Bosnian investigation said, the Bosnian police
tipped off their counterparts in Denmark about the possibility of a parallel group in Copenhagen.

On Oct. 27, the police in Denmark, working with the Bosnian authorities, arrested four men, all between the ages of
16 and 20, and seized computers, computer discs, books with radical Muslim literature and Danish kroner worth
about $32,000, from separate addresses. Since then, three more people have been detained in connection with the
Bosnian arrests. Out of the seven, none of whom have been identified, six attended the same mosque in
Copenhagen's Noebbro district.

One international official close to the investigation, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the case is formally
the responsibility of Bosnia's state prosecutor, said that the group had sought to recruit suicide bombers from
established immigrant communities in the West.

"They are indoctrinated into thinking that they could be a huge cause for their people," said the official. "They are
young and impressionable and potentially disenfranchised from the society they find themselves living in."

Bektasevic's background appears to fit that description. Unemployed since leaving school a year and half ago, he
had begun to attend a mosque in Gothenburg, the city nearest their home on Sweden's west coast, said his mother,
Nafija Hamedovic.

She described her son as having come under the influence of three men: a Palestinian from Syria, a Kurd and a
Somali.

"He was not religious before, but in the past two years he practiced more seriously," she said in an interview by
telephone.

"Some people frightened him and talked to him about hell, and told him he would be tortured in hell if he does not
pray and does not believe," she said.

But she dismissed the idea that he could have been a suicide bomber, explaining that he had gone to stay with her
relatives in Sarajevo and that he had no outside support.

"It's a lie," she said. "He didn't even have any money. I even had to pay for his bus ticket to Bosnia."

Voting ends for Chechnya's parliament

Polling stations have closed in Chechyna where people in the
breakaway republic have been voting for a new regional assembly --
the first time since the current conflict between separatist rebels
and Russian forces began in 1991. Some 600,000 Chechens were
eligible to elect 58 local deputies. The poll marks the end of a
peace plan drawn up by Russia for the Causasus republic. Analysts
expect the elections to cement the power of local pro-Russian
strongman, Deputy Prime Minister Ramzan Kadyrov. Security in the
region has been heavily reinforced in fear of possible attacks by
Chechen separatist fighters. German politician Rudolf Bindig, a
Council of Europe representative said it was still not clear whether
the poll was really free. Human rights groups have dismissed the
election as a farce.

Former Serb Red Berets in Iraq

BAGHDAD, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Former Serbian "Red Berets" elites forces are now
being employed as private security personnel in Baghdad.

About 30 former members of the Jedinica za Specijalne Operacije Special
Operations Unit, better known as the JSO or Red Berets, have been working
for private security contractors in Iraq for $8,000 a month.

Vecernje Novosti daily said the men were recruited through a security agency
in Sarajevo in neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina. A former JSO member based
in Belgrade, who currently works for the Serbian National Security Council,
recruited the men.

KiM Info Newsletter 26-11-05

Patriarch Pavle meets with Martti Ahtisaari

"We are now hoping that the international community, together with the Serbs and the Albanians, will do everything that is necessary to
finally bring peace back to Kosovo and Metohija. It is important that Mr. Ahtisaari and his associates familiarize themselves thoroughly
with the real situation on the ground, and toward that end that they speak with the Albanians, the Serbs and members of the minority
communities," emphasized Patriarch Pavle. "We pray to God for peace and that what has befallen us does not befall any other people in
the world. We pray to God for peace, justice and freedom for all, for the Serbs, the Albanians and all others equally. We hope that you, too,
are here as men of good will who will help in establishing peace, justice and freedom."

HIS HOLINESS SERBIAN PATRIARCH PAVLE MEETS WITH MARTTI AHTISAARI

Information Service of
the Serbian Orthodox Church
November 25, 2005

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Pavle, together with His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral, His Grace Bishop
Joanikije of Budimlje and Niksic and Protopresbyter Savo B. Jovic, chief secretary to the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox
church, received Mr. Martti Ahtisaari, the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations for negotiations on the future status
of Kosovo, together with his deputy, Mr. Albert Rohan, and their associates, in the Belgrade Patriarchate today.

Patriarch Pavle informed the eminent guests that he had served as bishop in Kosovo and Metohija for 34 years, and was well acquainted with
local conditions there. He also informed them about the major expulsion, unprecedented in modern world history, of some 250,000 Orthodox
Serbs and ethnic minority members, and the destruction of 150 churches and monasteries since 1999, when international forces assumed
administration of the southern Serbian province. This is the biggest act of ethnic cleansing ever carried out "in a time of peace" anywhere in
the world. Nevertheless, the most tragic and irreparable tragedy of all is the loss of a large number of human lives. "We are now hoping that
the international community, together with the Serbs and the Albanians, will do everything that is necessary to finally bring peace back to
Kosovo and Metohija. It is important that Mr. Ahtisaari and his associates familiarize themselves thoroughly with the real situation on the
ground, and toward that end that they speak with the Albanians, the Serbs and members of the minority communities," emphasized Patriarch
Pavle. "We pray to God for peace and that what has befallen us does not befall any other people in the world. We pray to God for peace,
justice and freedom for all, for the Serbs, the Albanians and all others equally. We hope that you, too, are here as men of good will who will
help in establishing peace, justice and freedom."

Mr. Ahtisaari informed Patriarch Pavle and the other representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church that he and his associates had received
a mandate from the Secretary-General of the United Nations to conduct negotiations on the future status of Kosovo and Metohija. Toward
that end, in addition to the Albanian leaders in Kosovo and Metohija, he had already met with His Grace Bishop Teodosije in Visoki Decani
Monastery and seen for himself the difficult living conditions of that monastic community under the essential military protection of Italian
soldiers and lacking even the right of freedom of movement. "Our intention, in cooperation with the UNMIK leadership, is to open up the
local society so that all communities can live freely. My impression is that Decani Monastery is a place that survived. The only positive
example in the present situation. The orders and instructions of the UN Secretary-General, as well as of the member countries of the Contact
Group, are to ensure the protection of all communities and cultural heritage. In this I see the great contribution to be made by the Serbian
Orthodox Church and you personally, considering the great influence you have on the people. The visits to Pristina and Belgrade, and the
talks we have held this time are our first attempt to get a grasp on the problem."

Metropolitan Amfilohije briefly outlined for Mr. Ahtisaari with the entire tragic history of Kosovo and Metohija from the great migrations of
the Orthodox population under Ottoman rule and constant conflicts which continue to the present day. Later, during World War II and the
occupation, approximately 250,000 Serbs and minority members were expelled from Kosovo and Metohija, and an additional 150,000 during
the time of Communist rule. The torching of the Pec Patriarchate in 1981 signified the new awakening of Albanian nationalist chauvinism and
the intent to ethnically cleanse Kosovo and Metohija, emphasized the Metropolitan. "If Kosovo and Metohija become independent, there is
no doubt that the Serbs and the ancient Christian culture there will experience the same kind of catastrophe and the Greeks and their culture
in Asia Minor after World War I. Hence, your task is far from simple. It is clear that international forces cannot remain forever in the region
but the International Community must find a way for displaced persons to return to their homes. Refugee returns is not only an essential
matter of enabling basic human rights and a matter of humaneness but a prerequisite for the survival of the remaining holy shrines. It is
essential to protect our ancient churches and monasteries - the Pec Patriarchate, Gracanica, Bogorodica Ljeviska and others - following the
model of special protection zones such as that around Decani Monastery; however, the holy shrines exist for the people and if there are no
people they will perish despite the protection zones. In this sense, you have the full support of the Serbian Orthodox Church to carry out
your difficult and demanding task. UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and its full implementation could contribute to finding a model for
the future status of Kosovo and Metohija. This solution is the only realistic solution that can bring peace to Kosovo and Metohija and
Serbia, as well as to the entire Balkan peninsula.

At the conclusion of the meeting with Mr. Ahtisaari, His Holiness Patriarch Pavle presented him with copies of the Communiqué of the
Serbian Assembly of Bishops following its discussion on Kosovo and Metohija, and the Memorandum of the Holy Assembly of Bishops on
Kosovo and Metohija, both official documents of the position of the Serbian Orthodox Church regarding this issue.

TV Most taken off the air in central Kosovo and Metohija

Kosovska Mitrovica International Press Center
November 24, 2005

According to the decision of the UNMIK Office of the provisional commissioner for media, the repeaters on Mokra Gora and near Gracanica
were turned off yesterday, leaving the area of Metohija and central Kosovo in media darkness.

Subsequently, the director of TV Most, Zvonimir Miladinovic, held a press conference today during which he warned that by obstructing the
broadcast of the only Serbian television program in Kosovo and Metohija, Serbs and other non-Albanian communities have been left in an
information blackout, depending exclusively on the Albanian media.

"It's a fact that we began broadcasting, perhaps too soon in our desire to provide Serbian language programming for central Kosovo and
Metohija, from Gracanica three years ago without an official permit. We did so as a result of numerous requests and petitions by Serbian and
other non-Albanian citizens living in this area, who also approached the Coordinating Center," said Miladinovic.

He reminded that on September 3 this year TV Most sent an official request to UNMIK asking for permission of use for its frequency. Instead
of a response, it received an order for TV Most to cease broadcasting immediately and remove its repeaters used in "illegal broadcasting".

According to Miladinovic, previous special representatives and KFOR commanders in Kosovo and Metohija used TV Most to send their
messages and explanations of their operations and activities to the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, recognizing the television
station as one of the most popular in this area.

TV Most sent notification yesterday to the special representative of the UN secretary-general Soren Jessen-Petersen, asking for his
intervention in order to resolve the problem of legalizing the frequency as soon as possible.

Appropriate officials of the Republic of Serbia have also been notified regarding the interruption in broadcasting of TV Most programming,
and an appeal to journalistic associations is forthcoming.

Commenting on the situation, the Serb National Council assessed that the UNMIK commissioner for media Robert Gillette had made "an
anti-Serb decision". "Even before the beginning of negotiations on the status of the southern Serbian province, he openly took the side of
the Albanian separatists, the extremist advocates of an independent Kosovo and Metohija."

"The SNC of Kosovo and Metohija demands that this irrational and highly damaging decision by Robert Gillette, which denies the Serbs of
Kosovo and Metohija the right to receive information in their native language and, at the same time, intentionally weakens the Serbian
position during the course of the negotiations on the status of Kosovo and Metohija, be rescinded immediately," assessed the SNC.

Journalists working for local media also reacted, announcing their protest.

Odd, the uniformed gangs, makes me think of the Calif. Liquor Stores and the suits and bow ties.

Are we going to see uniforms? Will this force the law that governs POW's? If in uniform, the law take force, LOL, for the life of me I cannot name the law, but can recall that it came from the Geneva Convention.........

What is needed in Kosovo is more international presence, not less, so that
the proclaimed standards of democratic civil society are met to a greater,
rather than lesser, extent.

Recently, uniformed gangs have appeared in Albanian-dominated parts of
Kosovo in defiance of the United Nations, the police force and the
international troops.

This is ominous. Violence or threats of violence should not be rewarded by a
promise of independence.

Wahhabism spreading among Albanians

ANTIC.org-SNN
Mon, 21 Nov 2005 09:14:16 -0800

BBC Monitoring International Reports November 20, 2005

WAHHABISM SAID SPREADING AMONG ALBANIANS IN MACEDONIA, KOSOVO

Text of commentary by Islamic theologian Zekeria Idrizi: "Careful:
'Wahhabists' marching in Albanian lands", published by Kosovo Albanian
newspaper Koha Ditore on 15 November

I have hesitated to approach the phenomenon of our Albanian "Wahhabism" and
"Wahhabists" (if you can call them Albanians!), which, over the past 20 years,
has spread its roots across our Illyrian [ancient people of the Balkans, whom
Albanians regard as their ancestors]-Dardan [ancient name of Kosovo]-Albanian
lands. I have hesitated for the simple fact that I thought that Washington, that
is, the Bush administration is currently dealing with this problem.

But, the phenomenon of "Wahhabism" has assumed wide and alarming proportions
in all Albanian lands and in the Albanian diaspora in the West. They are visible
everywhere with their eccentricity in every respect - long beards, Asian
dresses, short trousers, wives covered by black dresses (which remind you of
Slav Orthodox nuns), and extremely radical and vulgar vocabulary. God, they only
need to bring camels from the deserts in order to conform completely - of
course, according to them - to the "Sunnet" [practices of Muhammad] of the
Prophet! For this reason, the Shkup [Skopje] citizens are justified in calling
them "bearded men," "Selamalejkums" [from the Arab greeting selam aleykum],
"mojahedin," "Taleban," and so on. Their eccentricity is really out of this
world for our European environment and for our national traditions. Finally,
their entire extreme and radical doctrine, ideology, and practice is against our
religious doctrine, which has been embedded in our tradition for centuries since
our forefathers embraced the Islamic religion. Our Wahhabists want, among other
things, to uproot our traditional religious doctrine - Hanafi Madhab [religious
legal doctrine] - and replace it with the rigid doctrine of "Wahhabism." What an
absurdity - they want to uproot the extremely tolerant and rational teachings of
our Hanafi Madhab with the extreme, stale, infantile, and irrational teachings
of Saudi Wahhabism! With their deranged views and propaganda, they have created
unseen confusion and chaos in our lands - in mosques, streets, homes, religious
ceremonies and celebrations, electronic media and press, Internet, and so on.

Praise be to God, why do we, Albanians, need the Saudi Wahhabism, which, as
a religious and ideological faction, opposes the study of general and Islamic
philosophy in the universities of Saudi Arabia? It denies rationalism,
moderation, and human intellect? This is because, according to them, it is
"haram" [sinful in Arabic] for a Muslim to think with his or her own head! Oh
God, what a misery! Why do we need the Afghan "Taleban," who turned stadiums
into criminal courts and places for punishing women and who strictly forbid the
use of radios, television sets, and computers in Muslim homes on the verge of
the third millennium? Why do we need this sect, which has sown hatred,
divisions, and fratricidal war everywhere? Why do we need this nihilistic
religious philosophy that wants to uproot every trace of culture and
civilization, this philosophy that denies every national value, and every
historic treasure of religious and national heritage?

The alarm bells are already ringing. In Kosova [Kosovo] these Wahhabi
bastards have started to desecrate our graves and our monuments "in the name of
religion." This is really terrible and worrying. If nothing is done to prevent
these vandalistic acts, I fear that it will be too late tomorrow.

I think that there are many factors that stimulate the expansion of this
Wahhabi ideology among Albanians. On this occasion, I will mention some of the
main factors - of course, from my point of view.

First, it is the indolence, confusion, and at times extreme passivity and
lack of unity among our Islamic theologians and leaders. This has created a
large vacuum among us, which the Wahhabis have cleverly and quickly used to
their advantage.

Second, it is the Albanian Muslims' very superficial knowledge of our Hanafi
legal doctrine (I am not even going to mention other religious legal doctrines
of the Islamic world: Shafite, Hanbalite, and Maliki) in particular and the
Islamic religion in general. This is the main reason why the Wahhabi sect has
been so successful in Albania, given that the long period of atheism there had
created fertile ground for their sophisticated propaganda.

Third, it is the lack of values in modern secularism, vulgar and extreme
materialism, such as drug abuse, prostitution, paedophilia, cannibalism, the
hippie movement, pornography, exhibitionism, and other pseudo-values that have
led many of our young people into chaos, confusion, and the abyss. They are
every day in search of a way out of this chaos. Strangely enough, many of them
find salvation in religion. What religion is that? Of course, in that religion,
or rather in that religious sect that has the most rigorous, most dogmatic, and
most extreme rules. Unfortunately, from the psychological viewpoint, the
pathological cases in society in the past will remain such even when they
embrace religion, Islam, or, in some cases, even "jihad" in the streets of
Illyria, wearing all kinds of Arab-Asian dresses and using very coarse language.
Moreover, this phenomenon is widespread not only in the Albanian world. This is
a universal phenomenon. In the Western world, the number of satanic sects and
their extreme members are continuously rising. We already know about collective
suicides in religious temples and collective sexual orgies of "religious"
hedonists.

And fourth, there is the social-economic factor. After the disintegration of
the Socialist-Communist system, especially after the end of the wars in our
ethnic lands, many Arab-Islamic charities have infiltrated the country and have
been propagating sectarian ideas under the guise of humanitarian work, making
their meagre assistance conditional on conversion to the "new religion."
According to them, from a "deviant religion" (Hanafi Madhab) into "genuine
orthodox Islam" (Bin-Ladin's Wahhabism)! In their efforts, they have opened
hundreds of free Islamic schools for our young people. In this respect, they are
having great success in spreading Bin-Ladin's ideas among Albanian youth. In
addition to this, there is also the miserable state of our religious Islamic
administration and their professional staff (low salaries of imams, muezzins
[Muslim crier who calls the hour of daily prayers], and religious teachers).
Unfortunately, as a result of this situation, a considerable number of
theologians and imams have fallen victim to the Wahhabi propaganda. They get
hefty salaries from Wahhabi centres in the Islamic world to spread their
ideology in the Albanian world. These are not just empty phrases and
unsubstantiated claims. They are well-documented facts. Many times I have said
to ignorant Albanian Wahhabists (who think that they have become "Muslims" by
growing a beard and by reading two or three religious brochures): "You are
nothing but small fry in comparison with your mega-bosses, who are traitors of
the religion of their forefathers and whom I blame the most. This is because
they are the cause of all this chaos and drama in our universe."

The alarm bells are already ringing. Dozens of mosques in Illyrian lands
have been usurped by the Wahhabis! Oh god, this is terrible! The monumental
mosque in Shkup, Jahja Pasha Mosque, has fallen into their hands. The beautiful
new mosque in the Dizhon neighbourhood (Cair municipality) started to stink of
"Wahhabism" from the day it was opened. There are many other mosques, too.

Their goals do not end here. This is just part of the wider efforts to take
over from within all Islamic fortresses, that is, all religious administrations
in the Illyric Peninsula [referring to the Balkans]. There is already a danger
of our religious community offices being turned into "boutiques" of Arab dresses
and, god forbid, stables for camels. In this respect, our religious-Islamic
establishments should show vigilance and a higher sense of responsibility in
order not to fall prey to such perfidious traps.

As early as 1995, I was banned as a result of strict censorship from reading
the presentation, "Religious Sectarianism Among Albanian Muslims Serving
Pan-Slavic Ideology," which I had prepared at the scientific seminar, "Islamic
Religion in Post-Communist Albania," in Durres. I only realized why when I found
out that the seminar had been organized by an Arab "Wahhabi" association. I
mention this fact in order to stress that I warned about the dangers of the
"Wahhabi" phenomenon from very early on. To be honest, it is not by accident
that the "Wahhabi" phenomenon emerged at such a sensitive time for our national
cause when we were in danger of being biologically exterminated. It was quite
typical that the political-military establishment of the Slav-Orthodox Serbs
would allow this despicable phenomenon to spread in our ethnic lands because
"Wahhabism" did the dirty work for Pan-Slavism by sowing division among
Albanians over religious nonsense coming from Bin-Ladin types and by portraying
Albanians as "Islamic fundamentalists" in the eyes of the international
community. This has always been the case since this religious sect first emerged
on the scene in the Saudi desert at the beginning of the 18th century, when its
founder, Muhamed Abdul-Wahhab, lived. At that time, this alleged scholar issued
a fatwa allowing military-political cooperation between the Saudi Muslims and
Anglo-French Christians in the war against the Ottoman Empire. It is worth
mentioning that the Vali [ruler] of Egypt, Muhamet Ali Pasha, this great
Albanian, was sent by the Sultan to crush the uprising of the fanatic Saudi
Wahhabis in blood.

The Albanian Wahhabis are zealous workers. They carry out with precision the
orders that they receive from Arab shaykhs. They have been setting up publishing
houses to publish titles with a Wahhabist-Salafist message and newspapers with
the same message. They also produce various videocassettes and CDs, set up
Internet sites, and conduct a range of other activities in order to increase
their membership. They have even managed to pollute our air, apart from
everything else.

However, my optimism is based on the following: all our Islamic religious
administrative bodies have stipulated explicitly in their constitutions and
statutes that only the Hanafi legal doctrine is to be practiced. The majority of
the Islamic intelligentsia among us support this view. Religious teachers in
medreses [religious schools] and theological faculties preach this doctrine. The
same situation exists in lower religious schools and classes (excluding those
that have fallen into the hands of "bearded men"). Also, the majority of
Albanian Muslims in the country and in the diaspora practice their rites in
accordance with the Hanafi doctrine. For all these reasons, all practices
outside it, that is, all Wahhabi-Salafi practices, are in fact subversive,
extra-institutional, underground actions.

As I said earlier, our doctrine is tolerant, rational, and scholarly. And,
are tolerance, rationalism, and scholarship not the distinguishing
characteristics of our nation?

Thank god that we are Hanafi. In that way, the values of our culture and
civilization are closer to those of Europe and the United States.

The Freedoms We Fight For (The unheralded
Islamist assault on free speech)
The Weekly Standard ^ | November 28, 2005 | Daveed Gartenstein-Ross

LAST MONTH, Islamic radicals threatened to kill actor and Muslim
convert Omar Sharif. Sharif had recently played St. Peter in an Italian
TV film and spoke highly of the role, saying that he "seemed to hear
voices" during filming and that "it will be difficult for me to play other
roles from now on." Although Sharif's comments seem innocuous, they
prompted a death threat. According to the Adnkronos International
news agency, a message on a web forum which has been used by al
Qaeda in the past linked to another website that threatened Sharif's
life. The website containing the threat said, "Omar Sharif has stated
that he has embraced the crusader idolatry. He is a crusader who is
offending Islam and Muslims and receiving applause from the Italian
people. I give you this advice, brothers, you must kill him."

This incident is relatively minor in the grand scheme of the war
against radical Islam, but telling. It provides another glimpse into the
Islamists' single-minded fanaticism and their willingness to punish any
type of ideological non-conformity.

THE THREAT AGAINST Sharif largely fell below the media's radar.
Indeed, aside from a few high profile examples--such as the fatwa
directed at Salman Rushdie after he published The Satanic Verses and
last year's slaying of Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh--the
mainstream media has given little coverage to the widespread
Islamist assault against free speech.

Continued, lots of other reports here..........
