Molasses or maple syrup like smell again? In Manhattan? Does anyone remember the post from Kingofhearts that mentioned a delivery to New York. Was it to the Manhattan area? I can't remember when I posted that map.

A more in depth story concerning the China massacre:

Chinese protesters report a massacre

SHANGHAI Residents of a fishing village near Hong Kong said that as many as 20 people had been killed by the paramilitary police in an unusually violent clash that marked an escalation in the widespread social protests that have roiled the Chinese countryside.

Villagers said that as many as 50 other residents remain unaccounted for since the shooting that occurred this week as villagers staged a protest over government land appropriations. It is the largest known use of force by security forces against ordinary citizens since the killings around Tiananmen Square in 1989. That death toll remains unknown, but is estimated to be in the hundreds.

The violence began after dark in the town of Dongzhou on Tuesday evening. Terrified residents said their hamlet has remained occupied by thousands of security forces, who have blocked off all access roads and are reportedly arresting residents who attempt to leave the area after the heavily armed assault.

"From about 7 p.m. the police started firing tear gas into the crowd, but this failed to scare people," said a resident who gave his name only as Li and claimed to have been at the scene, where a relative of his was killed.

"Later, we heard more than 10 explosions, and thought they were just detonators, so nobody was scared. At about 8 p.m. they started using guns, shooting bullets into the ground, but not really targeting anybody.

"Finally, at about 10 p.m. they started killing people."

The use of live ammunition to put down a protest is almost unheard of in China, where the authorities have come to rely on rapid deployment of huge numbers of security forces, tear gas, water cannons and other nonlethal measures.

But the Chinese authorities have become increasingly nervous in recent months over the proliferation of demonstrations across the countryside, particularly in heavily industrialized eastern provinces like Guangdong, Zhejiang and Jiansu. By the government's tally there were 74,000 riots or other significant public disturbances in 2004, a big jump from previous years.

The villagers in Dongzhou said their dispute with the authorities had begun with a conflict over plans by a power company to build a coal-fired generator in their area, which they feared would cause heavy pollution. Farmers said they had not been compensated for the use of the land for the plant.

Others said plans to reclaim land by filling in a local bay as part of the power plant project were unacceptable because people have made their livelihoods there as fishermen for generations. Already, villagers complained, work crews have been blasting a nearby mountainside for rubble for the landfill.

A small group of villagers was delegated to complain to the authorities about the plant in July, but they were arrested, infuriating other residents and encouraging others to join the protest movement.

On Dec. 6, while villagers were mounting a sit-in demonstration, the police made a number of arrests, bringing people out into the streets, where they managed to detain several officers. In response, hundreds of law enforcement agents were rushed to the scene.

Everybody, young and old, "went out to watch," said one man who claimed his cousin had been killed by a police officer's bullet in the forehead. "We didn't expect they were so evil. The farmers had no means to resist them."

Early reports from the village said the police opened fire only after villagers began throwing homemade bombs and other missiles, but villagers reached by telephone on Friday denied this, saying that a few farmers had launched ordinary fireworks at the police as part of their protest.

"Those were not bombs, they were fireworks, the kind that fly up into the sky," said one witness reached by telephone. "The organizers didn't have any money, so someone bought fireworks and placed them there. At the moment the trouble started many of the demonstrators were holding them, and of those who held fireworks, almost everyone was killed."

Other witnesses estimated that 10 people were killed immediately in the first volley of automatic gunfire. "I live not far from the scene, and I was running as fast as I could," said one witness, who declined to give his name.

"I dragged one of the people they killed, a man in his 30s who was shot in his chest. Initially I thought he might survive, because he was still breathing, but he was panting heavily, and as soon as I pulled him aside, he died."

The witness said that he, too, had come under fire when the police saw him going to the aid of the dying man. The Chinese government has yet to issue a statement about the incident, nor has it been reported in the state media.

Reached by telephone, an official in the city of Shanwei, which has jurisdiction over the village, said, "Yes, there was an incident, but we don't know the details." The official said an official announcement would be made Saturday.

Villagers said that in addition to the regular security forces, the authorities had enlisted thugs from local organized crime groups. "They had knives and sticks in their hands, and they were two or three layers thick, lining the road," one man said.

Like the Dongzhou incident itself, most of the thousands of riots and public disturbances recorded in China this year have involved environmental, property rights and land use issues. Among other problems, in trying to come to grips with the growing rural unrest, the Chinese government is wrestling with a yawning gap in incomes between farmers and urban dwellers, and rampant corruption in local government, where unaccountable officials deal away communal property rights, often for their own profit.

Finally, mobile telephone technology has made it easier for people in rural China to organize, communicating news to one another by short messages, and increasingly allowing them to stay in touch with members of nongovernmental organizations in big cities.

Residents said that after the demonstration was suppressed a senior Communist Party official came to the hamlet from nearby Shanwei and addressed residents with a megaphone.

"Shanwei and Dongzhou are still good friends," the official said. "We're not here against you. We are here to make the construction of the Red Sea Bay better.

Later, the official reportedly told visitors, "all of the families who have people who died must send a representative to the police for a solution."

On Friday, a group of 100 or so bereaved villagers gathered at a bridge leading into the town, briefly blocking access to security forces, hoisting a white banner whose black-ink characters read: "The dead suffered a wrong. Uphold justice."

Hamas to end truce with Israel
BBC News ^ | Friday, 9 December 2005, 16:55 GMT | BBC

Posted on 12/09/2005 5:23:34 PM PST by Cinnamon

The political leader of the Palestinian militant group Hamas has said it will not renew its informal ceasefire with Israel that expires at the end of year.

Khaled Meshaal told a rally in the Syrian capital Damascus his group was preparing for a new round of conflict.

The truce begun in February was based on Israel ending its attacks on Palestinians and releasing prisoners.

Hamas had already said it would pull out of the truce when Israel killed a military leader in November.

Addressing the crowd at the Yarmouk refugee camp near Damascus, Mr Meshaal said there was no room for a truce.

"I say to our brothers in the [Palestinian] Authority that we are witnessing political stagnation," he said.

"I say it loudly, we will not enter a new truce and our people are preparing for a new round of conflict."

Mr Meshaal was named the organisation's most senior figure after the assassination of Hamas leader Sheikh Ahmed Yassin in March 2004.

Correspondents say Hamas' politburo, which Mr Meshaal heads, is more hardline and ideological than the group's leadership in Gaza.

NOTE: this will not surprise us, but a Marine, not active, just phoned Gunny Bob, they were talking about the war on terror, he said that he had found the "raw FBI information, less than a week old" on the internet.

G. Bob asked if he called the FBI, he said that he had called his old Sargent at Camp LeJune, where he had worked with the same type info, raw and uncut, when he was active, the Sgt. will handle it.

This is a fine example of a traitor, active and working for the wrong side.

XYLENE FACT SHEET

Brief Overview:
Contaminant: Xylene
Category: Organic
MCL: 10000 PPB
Source: Solvents, gasoline, plasticizers
Effect: Damage to the central nervous system, liver and kidneys
Followup: Treat and retest quarterly
Treatment: Granular activated charcoal

Details:
Source: A xylene is any of a group of very similar organic compounds. They are
clear liquids with a sweet odor. The greatest use of xylenes is as a solvent
which is much safer than benzene. Other uses include: in gasoline as part of the
BTX component (benzene-toluene-xylene); Xylene mixtures are used to make
phthalate plasticizers, polyester fiber, film and fabricated items.

Production of xylenes was 6.84 billion lbs. in 1993. Major environmental releases
of xylenes are due to evaporation from the refining and use of petroleum
products. It may also be released by leaks or spills during the transport and
storage of gasoline and other fuels. Xylenes are a natural products of many
plants, and are a component of petroleum and coal tar.

From 1987 to 1993, according to EPA's Toxic Chemical Release Inventory, xylene
releases to land and water totalled nearly 4.8 billion lbs. These releases were
primarily from petroleum refining industries. The largest releases occurred in
Texas. The largest direct releases to water occurred in New Jersey and Georgia.

What happens to Xylene when it is released to the environment? Most of the
xylenes are released into the atmosphere where they are quickly degraded by
sunlight. When released to soil or water, xylenes will quickly evaporate. They
may leach into ground water and persist there for several years. There is little
potential for accumulation in aquatic life.

Effect: Short-term: EPA has found xylenes to potentially cause the following
health effects when people are exposed to it at levels above the MCL for
relatively short periods of time: disturbances of cognitive abilities, balance, and
coordination.
Long-term: Xylenes has the potential to cause the following effects from a
lifetime exposure at levels above the MCL: damage to the central nervous
system, liver and kidneys.

Followup: Treat and retest quarterly.

Treatment: Granular activated charcoal in combination with Packed Tower
Aeration.

Did you catch in the above link, that the man who caused the China spill, was found dead?

I didn't see, why N.Y. would keep smelling.

I did post the effects sheet, mind and liver, with those destroyed, you have real problems.

I would expect the Gov. offices to know who was using enough to smell in the whole area.

"Finally, at about 10 p.m. they started killing people."

The MSM are virtually silent about this. This is actually a HUGE news item. The US is China's 2nd largest trade partner, witness: China's Top 10 Trading Partners in 2000* (Unit US$ 1 billion)

Rank Country & Region Import & Export

1 Japan

2 USA

3 EU

4 Hong Kong

5 ASEAN

6 ROK

7 Taiwan

8 Australia

9 Russia

10 Canada

We're so intertwined with China, have we lost our capability to stand up for what is right and against what is wrong or do they use the 4 dead students in Ohio against us and tell us to mind our own business?

Massive Anti-Fascist Rally in Toledo, Ohio December 10, 2005

Snip: On December 10th neo-Nazis and those who oppose them will converge on Toledo from all around the country. Neo-Nazis, White Seperatists, and KKK members will be pulling out all the stops to ensure a large turnout. Anti-fascists, including anarchists, communist groups, ARA, and ISO, as well as members of the community will be ready to stop them once again.

With the international attention surrounding the last attempted march in Toledo and the subsequent uprising, this is expected to be a massive event with potentially serious consequences.

Good hiding place for terrorists, as they are protected from the Police.

When a sheriff has no use for FBI, DEA or other "undercover" operations in his jurisdiction, that sends up red flags all over the place IMHO.

Snip: One lawman who doesn’t hesitate to second Masters is Robert Braudis, Pitkin County’s sheriff for the past eighteen years. Policing Aspen and its environs, Braudis has shunned undercover drug operations and come to the conclusion that the war on drugs “was lost the first day it started.” Their politics are actually quite different — Braudis is a liberal from south Boston, while Masters aligns himself with the conservative wing of libertarianism — but Braudis admires his colleague’s honesty and fortitude.

"Restaurant Patrons Possibly Exposed To Hepatitis A"
cbs2.com ^ | Dec 9, 2005 7:39 pm US/Pacific | Jennifer Sabih

Posted on 12/09/2005 9:23:13 PM PST by BenLurkin

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "(CBS) LOS ANGELES County health officials urged Café Pinot patrons to get globulin shots Friday after one of the restaurant’s employees was diagnosed with hepatitis A.

At least one of the employees at the restaurant’s Central Library location has hepatitis A and three others have symptoms consistent with the disease.

Representatives from the Patina Group, which operates Cafe Pinot, said they were working with the Los Angeles County health department to maintain the highest standards of hygiene and safety.

"When we became aware yesterday that one of our associates had a confirmed diagnosis of hepatitis A we immediately worked to take every precaution to further safeguard our guests and other associates," according to a statement from Joachim Splichal, chef and founder of the Patina Group. Splichal said his company was working in full cooperation with Fielding's office.

"They conducted a thorough inspection today and were satisfied that the proper and effective controls were in place," Splichal said. "There is no risk to the public, and no reason to suspend operation."

Health officials say they have not found a reason to close the restaurant. But anyone who might have eaten at Café Pinot since Thanksgiving should immediately contact their doctor to receive immune globulin, officials said.

Patrons should receive the immune globulin as soon as possible, but no later than two weeks after the possible exposure.

The source of the disease among the four employees is unclear, said Dr. Fielding, the county’s director of public health, but the investigation into the exposure is ongoing."

!!!!!OFF TOPIC !!!!!

(WAY OFF TOPIC)

Subject: Fondue pots and cooking Fondue is only for Women
and Democrats.

Laughing, I will never hear the words fondue again without smiling.

Please, if you can listen on the computer, go to 850koa.com and listen to the 2nd and 3rd hours of the Jon Caldera show.

Jon is a brain, he is part of more than one think tank, Hoover is one of them I think.

At all times Jon is a master host, whatever subject he chooses for the night.

Tonight was an experience in brainwashing.

He announced that Fondue pots were only bought by women and Democrats, that no "real" man would ever buy one, use it or eat out of it.

Fondue pots are only good for regifting, meaning, to pass on a gift you received and do not like.

Doesn't sound like much of a topic for a talk show....LOL

It was a riot, there were actually men phoning and admitting that they were both Democrat and cooked fondue's.....and attempting to defend the act.

There was one caller, who told of some funny gifts he had passed on, over the years, but then, honestly asked "what is a Fondue Pot?", LOL, Jon told him " If you have gone this many years unpoluted, then I shall not polute your mind and you can consider yourself lucky that you have never seen one".....and did not tell him what it was.

There is a man who proposed to his wife, after asking her to come over, built a fire in the fireplace, fixed chocolate fondue and had fresh strawberries for dipping.....happy still.

Fondue is considered a sensual food by women.

Jelly Donuts are considered a sensual food by men.

Peanut M& M's is on the health food list, you know, eat lots of nuts.....

Wok's are in the same class as a fondue pot, but a big mixer is ok, as it is a power tool.

Now a Fry Daddy, is a man style fondue pot, french fries, fish and other goodies can be cooked in front of the fire place and it takes a real HE-man to fry daddy, watch the ball game and drink beer at the same time and not burn the house down.

Fondue Restaurants, are a place that charge you a lot of money to cook your own food.

Another man wanted to know what a "3 wick candle was for" Jon had the answer, you cook a pig on it, and it only takes 3 days.

I don't think I ever knew what a White Elephant gift was, it was said that in the old days, the Marhajai, if he did not like you, would give you a White elephant, therefore you were stuck with feeding it for the next 100 years.

I think that White Elephants are rare and not for working or eating. You know, that would work, when anyone saw it, they would know you were not in favor.....how do you hide an elephant?

For the perfect gift to give, make sure it is one that you would like to have come back to you.

Very important to know if you live near a college dorm, watch the dumpster at the end of term, the young, throw out all that does not fit in the suitcases, working TV's, couches and other interesting finds.

Next Christmas, have a gift swap and swap all the gifts that you have and wish to give away, several people do this, unwrapped and draw numbers to be first......others wrap them and draw numbers......actually it would be great fun.

There is an old saying "one man's trash, is another man's treasure".

"Two U.S. Customs and Border Patrol officers fired at an adult male Tuesday when he attempted to run them over with a pick-up truck at the Mariposa Port of Entry.

Felt threatened"

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The person driving a vehicle was asked to pull in for inspection. He refused to stop and attempted to hit the officers as he crossed over to the southbound lanes and fled back into Mexico, Kissinger said.

No injuries were reported and the officers were not hurt, Levin said. He added that the incident did not affect the public. CBP did not shut down the port or stop traffic.

Levin said the port was not closed during the shooting, "Because it all happened within the space of a very short time and was in an area where the public was not at risk," he said. The shooting was in the southbound lanes.

The Nogales Police Department is the lead agency investigating the incident with cooperation from CBP and Immigration and Customs Enforcement."

Was it 126th? or 62nd?

I wish I knew if the Google search button for use on the home PC, would work on Threat Matrix?

Kim Komando said the other day that she used it for finding the things on her own computer, it isn't the same one we use for googling.
