Yep, we got it covered in post 1537. This has been building up in China over the past several weeks.
That was really cute! Bury the hatchet....sure thing. Any cartoons showing how our good pal Russia "we will bury you" should be trusted with its new allegiances with China, Venezuela and Iran? Looking for tin foil, will settle for electric blanket tonight (laughing).
I'm not sure what the thinking is, BUT see that Google news link?
It will keep updating as to new information coming in. Hopefully,

France is part of the world plan, some article that I read, said the muslims had decided to take over a country in Europe, it has been a long planned action.
It appears, they are taking France.
The communists are already working on taking charge of America and Mexico, so they are following the plan to rule.

"President Bush to arrive in Korea on Wednesday"

It was not immediately confirmed where Bush will arrive, but the president is most likely to stay in Busan during his participation in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit forum this week, except for his one-day trip to Gyeongju, some 80 kilometers from Busan.

Interesting, after I replied to your last post, the thought started running through my mind, that Australia and Canada would count as a hit on England.
That China report was denied by China, a couple days ago, something about "Unauthorized" posting......right.
It appears there is a major move on in every country, even more so than in the past.
Whatever I read it seems to contain a threat.

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (Reuters) -- A court sentenced a teacher to 40 months in prison and 750 lashes for "mocking religion" after he discussed the Bible and praised Jews, a Saudi newspaper reported yesterday.
Al-Madina newspaper said secondary-school teacher Mohammad al-Harbi, who will be flogged in public, was taken to court by his colleagues and students.
He was charged with promoting a "dubious ideology, mocking religion, saying the Jews were right, discussing the Gospel and preventing students from leaving class to wash for prayer," the newspaper said.
Saudi Arabia, the birthplace of Islam, strictly upholds the austere Wahhabi school of Islam and bases its constitution on the Koran and the sayings of the prophet Muhammad. Public practice of any other religion is banned.
A U.S. State Department report criticized Saudi Arabia last week, saying religious freedoms "are denied to all but those who adhere to the state-sanctioned version of Sunni Islam."
The newspaper said Mr. al-Harbi will appeal the verdict.

the U.S. Embassy in Beijing's Web site was fabricated, and the
embassy has withdrawn the statement.
The warning had appeared on an embassy web page that is meant to
keep American citizens in China informed on safety and health
information.
The message said Chinese police had warned that Islamic extremists
might be planning attacks on four and five-star hotels next week in
Beijing.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao said the warning
was the work of an impostor.
"We took note of the report and doubled-checked immediately with
the Public Security Bureau," he explained. "The so-called attack threat
to luxury hotels is a fabrication by foreign nationals. Chinese police
never issued such a warning."
Mr. Liu gave no details on the identity of those behind the allegedly
phony warning or how that warning was conveyed to the U.S.

Fawas Ajjur, whom security officials suspect may be an al-Qaida operative, was arrested Saturday in Zamboanga City as he arrived after a baffling, circuitous journey that took him to Russia, Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines, the officials said.
Ajjur did not have a visa and was taken into custody by immigration agents at the Zamboanga airport, Immigration Commissioner Alipio Fernandez Jr. said.
He was later allegedly identified by captured Abu Sayyaf guerrillas as one of the foreign militants who trained them in bomb-making near Patikul town of Jolo island a few years ago, a security official said on condition of anonymity."
Anonymous flier alleging terror ties doesn't stop Muslim from becoming mayor

PROSPECT PARK, N.J. (AP) — The anonymous flier mailed to households days before a new mayor was to be chosen was direct and devastating in its claims: A Muslim council member, one of three candidates for the post, was "a betrayer living among us" with ties to the 9/11 terrorists.
The mailing said Mohamed Khairullah "should not be living in our clean town" and "will try to poison our thoughts about our great country."
But the letter failed to derail his candidacy; the Borough Council chose Khairullah in a 4-0 vote Wednesday night, making him one of only two Muslim mayors in New Jersey.
"The people of Prospect Park are great people," said Khairullah, 30, a high school teacher. "I'm just happy to have this opportunity."
Arab-Americans and Muslims make up about 15 percent of this half-square-mile borough's population of nearly 5,800; Hispanics account for about 40 percent, with Caucasians and African-Americans representing most of the remainder.
The mayor's seat was vacated last month when Will Kubofcik stepped down because his family moved to Bloomingdale. The local Democratic party nominated three candidates to fill the remainder of the four-year term, which expires in December 2006. Khairullah, a Syrian native and former Saudi resident who was first elected to the council just two months after the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks, was one of the three nominees.
In the mailings, the anonymous author said Khairullah has made public comments "which show his ties to the people responsible for the horrible attacks of 9/11."
Khairullah called those claims baseless and disgusting, and said they endangered the safety of him and his family. He said the flier probably referred to — and misrepresented — comments he made at a pro-Palestinian rally in Paterson last year in which he said American Muslims need to do their part to effect change in the Middle East, either through political activism or economic boycotts.
"I just couldn't believe someone would stoop down to that level," he said. "It's one thing to attack me, but to attack me in terms that place my safety and the safety of those around me in grave danger is really low."
The mailing is similar to one that went out the night before the 2004 election to voters in Bedminster, accusing township committee candidate Zaheer Jan and his running mate of being funded by "foreign nationals, not local residents." Jan, who was born in India and grew up in Pakistan, said it was a scare tactic designed to make people fear he might have terrorist ties; he lost the election by 14 votes out of nearly 3,600 cast.
"At least this one had a happy ending," Jan said of the Prospect Park mailing. "There is too much bad-mouthing going on these days. It's really scary that this is happening in our country."
Aref Assaf, president of the Denville-based American Arab Forum, decried the flier, but said Khairullah's appointment as mayor is a step forward for Muslims in New Jersey politics.
Government and religious leaders say they know of only one other Muslim currently serving as mayor in New Jersey, Wayne Smith of Irvington. Mohammad Ali Chaudry served as mayor of Bernards Township last year, but committee members take turns serving as mayor, and a different member is mayor this year.
"This is a hopeful sign that a first-generation Arab-American and Muslim can rise to such a prominent position," Assaf said. "It's a sign of things to come for our community. We are very much a part of this gorgeous mosaic we call New Jersey."
Khairullah's first official act as mayor came on Thursday when he chaired a meeting of municipal department heads to look for ways to reduce expenses, and improve recreational opportunities in town.
"The two main complaints in town are `My taxes are too high,' and `There's nothing for people to do here,' " he said. "Cutting expenses will definitely help us with the taxes. It's like going to a store; you want to get the most you can for your money."
He said he hopes to run for a full four-year term once his current term expires.
"I'm testing the water right now," he said. "I just want to see what it feels like to be mayor first."

Duke to Establish Islamic Studies Center, Create $1.5 Million Endowed Professorship

The center's primary focus will be undergraduate education, international outreach
Durham, N.C. -- Duke University will create an Islamic studies center that will focus on undergraduate education and expand partnerships with universities in Muslim-majority countries, Provost Peter Lange announced Wednesday.
“The Duke Islamic Studies Center (DISC) will seek to advance interaction and understanding between citizens of American and Muslim cultures,” said Lange, the university’s top academic official. “The center’s ultimate objective is to provide interdisciplinary learning with a humanistic approach to the world’s future western and Muslim leaders. This complements many of the university’s top priorities, including advancing the undergraduate experience and promoting the internationalization of scholarship.”
A $1.5 million gift from James P. and Audrey Gorter for an endowed professorship in Islamic studies will enable Duke to take the first step toward establishing the center, Lange said. The Gorters are the parents of two Duke alumni and two other children.
Robert J. Thompson Jr., dean of Trinity College and vice provost for undergraduate education, said the center will be an important addition to the undergraduate curricular offerings, “not only in terms of a focus on the Muslim world but also because of the interdisciplinary perspective, the emphasis on the development of language skills and the study abroad component in a Muslim country, all of which are integrated into a coherent curricular experience.”
The center’s principal focus will be undergraduate education, said Bruce Lawrence, the Nancy and Jeffrey Marcus Humanities Professor of Religion at Duke. Lawrence, an Islamicist, will serve as inaugural director of DISC; associate professor of Islamic studies Ebrahim Moosa will be the center’s director of research.
“What does not exist right now is a depth and breadth of courses that accurately reflect the Muslim world,” said Lawrence, who joined the Duke faculty in 1971. “This is almost a dream come true for me.”
DISC will offer a four-year, interdisciplinary and integrated curriculum that includes a first-year course on Islamic studies, at least a semester of study abroad, foreign language studies (in Arabic, Persian, Turkish or Urdu) and a senior thesis course. Students who successfully complete the requirements will earn a certificate.
“The new professorship in Islamic studies, together with DISC and the certificate program in Islamic studies, charts a cutting-edge and innovative approach to the study of Muslim societies,” said Moosa, director of the Center for the Study of Muslim Networks (CSMN) at Duke. “It examines Islam as a civilization akin to any other.”
CSMN will be folded into DISC and no longer operated as a separate center, but DISC will maintain the approach of studying Muslim societies as networks, Moosa and Lawrence said. DISC also will continue to support the “Islamic Civilizations and Muslim Networks” book series, which is co-edited by Lawrence and published by the University of North Carolina Press. Books in the series include “Muslim Networks from Hajj to Hip Hop” (edited by Lawrence and his wife Miriam Cooke, who is a professor of modern Arabic literature and culture at Duke) and “Ghazali and the Politics of Imagination,” authored by Moosa.
In conjunction with the certificate program, the center will seek to enroll undergraduates and recruit visiting scholars from Muslim-majority nations. It will also offer fellowships in Islamic studies to graduate students.
“The international outreach -- through collaborative conferences with scholars from abroad, residential fellowships and study-abroad programs -- will enable a stimulating intellectual traffic to pass through the Duke campus,” Moosa said. “Hopefully this will contribute to the debates centered on Islam and Muslims for students, faculty and the Duke community at large.” The center’s advisory board will hold its first meeting on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 11 and 12, at Duke’s John Hope Franklin Center for Interdisciplinary and International Studies. Advisory board members include James Gorter, who will convene the board; Farooq Kathwari, CEO of Ethan Allen Interiors; Farhan Nizami, director of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies; Eboo Patel, director of Interfaith Youth Corp.; Bettye Musham, president of GEAR Holdings; Nemir Kirdar, CEO of Investcorp International Inc.; Eugene V. Fife, interim director of the Miller Center of Public Affairs at the University of Virginia; and Seham Freih, former dean of Kuwait University.

I have linked on a Militant Islam Monitor.org site that describes one of the advisory board members history. Just click on the name Farooq Kathwari, CEO of Ethan Allen Interiors toward the end of the article. Nothing of interest turned up on a simple Google search on the other board members. I admit I didn't take a lot of time on this though, I'm getting ready to go to bed and I'm tired but wanted to get this posted first. MKM
