What is your reason that the Republican Senators would not elect Lott as their majority (or minority) leader, in 2006?
They did, before. And he has served some time in political banishment, of sorts, for the error of his ways (the comment about Sen. Strom Thurmond, if I recall correctly).
Because there are better candidates.
After all the smarmy stuff Lott has done in the last year, I wouldn't trust him. He's to ready and willing to bow to the demands of the democrats. That is not what we need in the Senate - we need someone who is not afraid of the democrats and who's not afraid to show leadership.
Being a nice guy will not cut it anymore. The democrats are out for blood - and they will take anybody's blood they can get.
