BS. Trent is an absolute spineless wimp who gives in to blackmail. I don't know why his own party has allowed him to stay in power.

Trent is still pissed off about the pereceived lack of support he received from the WH on the Strom Thurmond birthday party remarks, which cost him his leadership position in the Senate.

Matthews suggested that the WH should perhaps get rid of Rove, questioning why should the public be footing the salary for a tainted adviser who was authoring policy. Lott, in his best Gomer Pyle "oh shucks Chris" voice, couldn't bring himself to disagree. Said that was something for the WH to contemplate.

If Trent Lott hadn't engineered that corrupt deal to get clinton off the hook at his impeachment trial by refusing to allow any witnesses to appear, a lot more Republicans would have been willing to stick up for him when he got burned on racist charges. As it was, he didn't have any friends when he needed them.
This pathetic attempt to get even won't help him, either.

Trent ought to go back to Pascagoula and resume cheerleading. (Maybe he was good at that)
