"He's a legend out there."

He's a FOOTBALL legend. How does playing wide receiver prepare you to run a state? LOL. Celebrity status alone does not a good Governor make.

It appears that the party is ready to endorse Scranton.

THe point was that a FOOTBALL legend is more well known than an legislator. Will he be a good Governor? I have no idea, but you cannot deny that celebrity will garner votes that the "best candidate for the job" could never get.

Panyard seems like a very good man, but the fact is he has no chance of beating Rendell. Swann is the only person who could possibly beat Rendell.

Sometimes pragmatism has to triumph over stubbornism. Is it better to get a Governor who supports ZERO ZIP ZILCH positions you do just so you can say that a man who supprts 100% ran and got beat -- or do you take a person who maybe supports 60-70% of your positions and wins?

Do you have any idea what the guy has been doing in the 20 years since he retired?

Judging by what PA has now, being a football player can't be any worse. Apparently being a DA and Mayor isn't much help either. LMAO.

What makes you say that?

Yeah he's a football legend. But his name is also well known in the state. I lived there for 14 years.

No one outside of the PA Constipation party have heard of Paynard. He has no chance in Hades of winning anything.

Swann has a chance to counter Rendell in Philly. Swann will win the Central and Western parts of the state easily. Paynard has NO such chance.

What did a B-movie actor in California back in the 60s know about running a state?

Apparently, a lot more than the professional hacks did!
