So, they threw a hail-mary today, and it almost scored.
Sorry. Their Hail Mary scored, at least for today. This was the top story on the New York City local news, even though Prince Charles' visit should have overshadowed it. And the New York media is claiming that the Democrats won with their tantrum by getting what the Republicans had already promised. At a minimum, this will rally the moonbats.
Too bad for the Democrats, though - they are now down 35-7, instead of 35-0, with 5 minutes to go in the fourth quarter.

Of course it scored. The headline on Yahoo news....
"Democrats close Senate doors in Iraq protest"
Democrats forced the Senate into a rare closed session on Tuesday to protest what they decried as the Republican-led body's inattention to intelligence failures on Iraq and the leak of a CIA operative's identity.
Get it yet? This was a huge win. "inattention to intelligence failures?" Dems "forced" the Senate. "leak of CIA operative."

I thought they would be out whining about the Pres's speech this morning asking for billions for the upcoming pandemic.
Pres Bush has seized the agenda.

Yah. One news cycle for the Dems, vs. two Supreme Court justices, one non-indicted Presidential adviser, elections coming in Iraq, gas prices falling, and DeLay getting a new judge. I guess you just have to take your tiny victories wherever you can! LOLOLOLOL

No, it didn't score. And why? BECAUSE NO ONE IS WATCHING BUT US!! Hell, if my boat didn't need work, I would be fishing instead of watching this crap. Most people just dont give a crap about this, and they wont until October of next year.

"At a minimum, this will rally the moonbats."True, but the moonbats are not GOP voters or even potential GOP voters so it doesn't matter. What matters is how Republicans and centrist swing voters view this cheap political trick. I believe these people widely disapprove of this kind of deceptive stunt that disrupts the normal senate business. In politics and business, always talk to your supporters first in a lanuage they understand. Solidify your base first, then persuade the swing voters. The moonbats are largely irrelevant to us, with one exception: they provide us with a good material to use to fire up our base.
