Probably so. But if we lift as much as one finger to help the frogs -- even WITH the approval of that idiot Chirac or whatver socialist nincompoop succeeds him -- we'll be labeled "occupiers," "anti-Islam," and worse.

Sorry, but I feel this is France's problem. They'd better grow up and start acting like adults in a hurry or they'll end up a sheet of glass, and not necessarily by us.
