Doesn't matter about whether "he" had a high security clearance.
The "need to know" always, repeat ALWAYS, takes precedence.
But I'm sure that if she told him whilst they were in bed, as has been reported, SHE decided he had a need to know.
That's not the way it's supposed to work, by the way.
Lock them both up. I don't see how it makes any sort of sense to keep a CIA agent Covert when she goes and marries a high Profile Diplomat. CIA is Foreign Service so is the Diplomatic corp. Say Condi Rice meets and marries a nice CIA spook, no way he could stay covert. It makes no sense.
