The science I understand most (being a journalist by training) is meteorology. And there I see the forecasts that constantly change based on current observations of barometric pressure, wind speed and direction, etc. Its very difficult to see too far into the future in meteorolgy and that's why I have to doubt how biologists can see so far into the past.

Other people can't foretell the future, therefore biologists can't tell the past. Hmmm, fine logic there.
