Sounds like Levin is saying something that Warner didn't say ... Warner was up correcting the record
Like I said .. I want the names of any pubbie that votes for the Levin Amendment
Are you listening to these old men.....they are wanting to run this war...and FORCE the CIC to report to THEM every 3 months...
THIS better be vetoed where are the Republicans..the REAL Republicans...do they not get a vote on this???
BTW ... The Dems are trying to re-write history by redoing this resolution
Well, not exactly. The current schedule is already for the Iraqis to be fully sovereign and the sense of the Senate part that Warner has agreed to says that it would be good if they stuck to that. It is not binding on anyone. Levin wants a report in 30 days. warner says 90, and unclassified only to the extent practicable.
Levin keeps saying WE WANT this, WE WANT that....
Since when does the minority party in the Congress run the wars around here????
UH...since Vietnam?????
I may be getting hyperbolic here....but the more this man talks the more afraid I am getting...
OH..I wish ALL freepers were watching this and taking notes..
I don't like hearing all of the "not objected to" stuff.
Don't you get the sense that these two old men are trying to run the government all by themselves???
And why does Warner keep getting up and saying//"I don't see where we differ on anything"....arrrrrrrrrhhhh
Levin's distress seems to indicate to me that he is not getting what he wants. Let's see.
They keep talking about phased redeployment..and all the stuff I would expect Rummy and the Pentagon people to be talking about... not to idiot Senators..
Levin wants a draw down schedule for the troops. He's tryingto make Warner look unreasonable for not agreeing to it.
Okay - dueling amendments, similar to the Graham/Bingaman duel.
The Levin-Reid amendment is S.AMND.2519 - that was the primary subject of the presser. The GOP has some objections to the language in that amendment. The dueling amendment is S.AMND.2518 (Frist-Warner?).
The two versions appear one after the other in the Congressional Record at page S12701, dated November 10, 2005.
Am I correct in my thinking that Levin's amendment says that troops will start being deployment from Iraq in 2006??
Common technique used in negotiations. The primrose path attempt. All you need to say at the end is "NO."
That is where he is trying to go. Warner seems to be standing in his way. Now Levin says if you won't do a schedule, there is no plan, which is nuts of course.
Yep .. the Levin amendment wants to schedule a date for when the troops will be sent home from Iraq
I don't even like what Warner is willing to agree to.
Levin said it would be unfair to the American people for us NOT TO KNOW what conditions need to be met in order to start to draw down forces...
I DO NOT want to know...because if I know...so do the terrorists...
OOOPSY...they sent down Lieberman to butter up Warner, so he will change his mind...lol
