I don't practice Halloween because I've seen all the dead people I want to see. I think it trivializes and desensitizes us to the real horrors -- and the real monsters -- in our world. After you've stood waist-deep in corpses, a holiday celebrating the worst in us isn't quite so "fun" anymore.
How is Halloween "celebrating the worst in us"? I take no issue with the waist deep in corpses thing being somewhat of a buzz-kill, but a bunch of kids dressed up celebrates the worst in us?
What part of 'dress your kids as dead things and send them out to take candy from strangers' could possibly be suspect?
I have gone the corporate sponorship route - my front porch is known as the 'Gillete Snack Spot'. The kids love it...
