I had heard that he was unanimously confirmed to his current seat.

Meaningless.
The Dems will still "Obstruct and Dissent"
The RINOs will still betray the President by not supporting him with the Nuke option.
We're about to see WHY Bush originally tried to choose a stealth candidate -- i.e., Bush can't get a conservative through a supposedly Republican Senate.

I sure hope I'm wrong ... but I'm not.

Dems who voted for Alito
http://www.confirmthem.com/?p=1762

So to follow up on Erick’s mention of Alito - I thought it might be instructive to take a look back to Judge Alito’s first confirmation - in April of 1990. He was confirmed by unanimous consent - reported favorably from the Democrat-controlled Judiciary Committee by none other than Joe Biden.

Better yet - nineteen currently serving Senate Democrats were part of that unanimous consent.

Christopher Dodd
Joseph Lieberman
Joseph Biden
Daniel Inouye
Tom Harkin
Paul Sarbanes
Barbara Mikulski
Edward Kennedy
John Kerry
Carl Levin
Max Baucus
Harry Reid
Frank Lautenberg
Jeff Bingaman
Kent Conrad
Patrick Leahy
Robert Byrd
Jay Rockefeller
Herbert Kohl

For those keeping track - that’s almost half the current Democratic caucus in the senate.

Yes 100-0 or UNANIMOUS CONSENT! I believe he was also confirmed 100-0 to a District court prior to his appointment to the 3rd Circuit.
