Why would the fight over JRB be any worse?

__________

Because JRB is a black woman, which goes right to the base of the Dimocrat Party. That's why they see her as such a threat: She might add some credibility among blacks and women to the Pubbies. They don't want us to become the first to put a black woman on the SCOTUS. They DID NOT want to have to oppose her.

God forbid there be a conservative black woman in the country!

They are trying to force President Bush not to pick her by saying that the fight will b e worse. At the end of the day, once JRB is nominated, they wouldn't go after her any harder than Alito. In fact, they'd have less to go after her with, and it would have less impact on the public. Once nominated, Brown would be confirmed more easily than Alito. They're only hope was to scare the president into not nominating her.
