Agreed. I see republican senators from overwhelming blue states as gravy. They give you the majority which even in the hands of Frist and Lott is very useful.

We should push for full blown conservative senators in all of the very Red states. The battleground states can be somewhat moderate conservatives (PA, OH, etc) and the very blue states (MA, VT, etc) are just gravy. Only full blown conservatives should be given committee chairmanships though.
