Yep. I've pointed out similar things before. In Vietnam there were 15.9 troops killed per day, vs. 2.1 killed per day in Iraq, as of 2000. And over 800 of those 2,000 were accidents, which happen even when there is no war. Plus, Iraq is three times larger than South Vietnam, we never controlled the north, South Vietnam never had real elections or a constitution, North Vietnam never fell, and on the best day in Vietnam it was never as good as the worst day in Iraq. Commparrisons of the two show a complete and total lack of factual understanding of history, and frankly, anyone that arguss Iraq is like Vietnam is a totally stupid and inept fool. My father served four tours in Vietnam and he's said a few times he'd of much rather been in Iraq and Vietnam. Hands down. Far as I'm concerned, that's all that needs be said. 8)
I served one 12 month tour in Vietnam plus an additional eight months off the coast and agree with your father. No comparison.
