Joe Wilson on Dateline....NOW
10/30/05

Posted on 10/30/2005 4:01:25 PM PST by Timeout

OK. I hate this program. But I heard Wilson would be on.

Let's see how many LAME questions Stone Phillips can ask in the span of 15 minutes. Is there any doubt he doesn't understand the difference between TRYING to buy uranium and ACTUALLY BUYING IT?

?

Look, none of these people "outed" a CIA field officer, covert or otherwise.

That could be why no one here is taking it all that seriously.

Valelrie Plame Wilson hadn't been covert for over 5 years. She had a desk job. If she had been in France pretending to be a banker for a fictitious CIA company, I might be concerned.

In fact, SHE wasn't concerned, as she outed herself to Wilson on their second or third date.

I refuse to let the MSM twist the facts on this. I hope Fitzgerald goes down in flames.

"...he has been decorated as a Commander in the Order of the Equatorial Star by the Government of Gabon and as an Admiral in the El Paso Navy by the El Paso County Commissioners"

ROFLMAO! These were my two favorite 'awards' in Joe Wilson's bio.... anyone who can cite such so-called 'awards' in his own bio has serious mental and character problems. Judging from his public words and behavior plus the fact that he can think these two items are 'honors' worth mentioning suggests to me that he is borderline psychotic with a narcissistic personality disorder. Seems like all these creeps end up in France doesn't it?! Perhaps she will be collaborating with that wonderful convicted felon Roman Polanski about doing a world wide film on her ''OUTING'' and then come back to the states and sue the Bush administration for exposing her and ''invasion of her privacy''! Sheesh!

Sorry.

His second wive, Jacqueline was a French undercover intelligence operative. She may still be but there are those who claim to know where she works.

If the Wilsons split up that will be more grist for the "blame Bush" mill..... rather than see that Joe Wilson is a pathological liar with a weak mind and a Napoleon complex who goes through women like kleenex, it will be spun by the MSM as "cruel vindictive White House aides wrecked the lives of these two kind-hearted patriotic Americans." Just watch, my prediction will come true.

Where oh where did the hundreds of tuns of yellowcake in Saddam's Iraq come from, and how did a almost two tonnes of it get distilled into near-weapons grade?

Since Rove hasn't been indicted, wouldn't that make Wilson's grand plan to sue him civilly fall by the wayside?

Simple, because if we had found all sorts of WMDs in Iraq, as EVERYONE on earth expected (including all of the major intel agencies) then quibbling over the "16 words" would have been pointless. It only became a weapon to wield against the WH when Saddam managed to cleanse his WMD sites, apparently trucking lots of stuff to Syria for safe-keeping. Wilson's 'mission' was only useful to the CIA rogues either before the war when they were still trying to change US policy or after the war when the WMDs were not turning up.

btw, does anyone remember the article by Ion Pacepa which alleged that Russia was involved in hiding and transporting all evidence of WMDs from Iraq? I have not seen anything else on this possibility, so I don't know whether the US or anyone is investigating this angle:

No, Wilson is completely at liberty to sue Rove for whatever tortured legal claims he thinks he can stick Rove with. And Wilson would have a lower burden of proof to meet than a prosecutor would (instead of the criminal "beyond a reasonable doubt", Wilson's civil claims simply have to be established "by a preponderance of the evidence").

But Wilson knows what he would be opening himself up to if he files such a suit. By doing so, he would make his credibility the principal issue. And we all know how little of that he has.

It's just like John F'n Kerry who might have thought about, but never will, sue the Swift Boat Vets for defamation. It would provide a national stage to prove that the SBV's were telling the truth, force him to produce ALL of his naval records, etc. So he'll never file that suit, and I think the applicable statute of limitations for him to do so has expired. Not that the SBV's would assert statute of limitations as a defense if he'd just file the suit. They'd gladly forego that possible defense in order to prove the truth of the matters they asserted.

Media is so obvious. Thus far, he's appeared on Dateline and 60 Minutes and tomorrow he's due to appear on The Today Show. Will LKL be far behind?

I can't find phatus maximus reply and I am new to FreeRepublic. I do think there is a point here. I think our country should be outraged and working hard to pretty much severely punish everyone involved (the to be found leakers) ... including those who use this a pretext for political gain or self-promotion (Wilson).

Perhaps a "Meet the Wilsons" reality show is in the works with FOX or VH1 or even UPN.

After we invaded, in 2003 we discovered 500 tons of uranium ore at the UN storage. Also 1.8 tons of enriched uranium -- not fully enriched. The UN claim is that those stores were under seal since after the first Gulf War, when Iraq halted its program. But where did that ore come from?

We know Saddam was totally corrupt, and so too Oil-for-Fodd, so too the UN in many (or most) parts of it.

We know that also in 2003, one of Iraq's key nuke scientists went to his Bagdad home's backyard and dug up most of the parts needed for a enrichement centrifuge, and also all the plans, manuals and diagrams needed to put it all together. He said that after GW I on Saddam's order he had buried them. Not destroyed them, not sold them -- Iraq hid them!.

They clearly intended to restart the program when they would have the opportunity.

One trouble for us is we place too much faith in our sensor technology to give us heads up on when somebody's nukefying anywhere in the world. It's good. But it's not perfect. But because of that hi-tech sensing capability, we dally around too much with tyrants and evil-plotters, thiking we can get them when we have too.

Bush made the right call. Iraq was getting ready and was maybe able. Libya was ready and able. We took out both when we took out Bagdad.

You see, eventually some evil smart-guy will figure out some way to jump our shark, sensing wise. Speed or stealth. Or some radical innovation. Why wait.
