Big deal - I would expect Cheney to be called as a witness. Maybe it's the open court that's the big deal. As far as I can tell, Cheney probably told the investigator about his talk with his Chief of Staff.
This might be a ploy by the prosecutor to begin the plea deal since his star witness would be Cooper or Russert.
Or it might just be more Drudge/MSM nonsense that characterized this case:

wide misconduct by VP's office
Bolton indicted
Hadley indicted

I have a question. During the Clinton scandals didn't the SCOUS decide that Clinton wasn't protected from a requirement to testify? That's what ultimately got him impeached, isn't it? If I'm right about the Supreme Court's decision under Clinton, how would Cheney be able to assert executive privilege anyway.
