(IsraelNN.com) IDF forces shot and killed the terrorist who planned last weeks suicide bombing in Hadera which resulted in five Israeli deaths. The operation which began shortly after sundown on Sunday cornered the terrorist in the Arab village of Kabatiya, near Jenin, together with another.
The mastermind of the Hadera attack was a member of the terrorist organization Islamic Jihad. The suicide bomber who attacked the Hadera open-air market last Wednesday was also a resident of Kabatiyah.
Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz earlier Sunday reiterated his intent to wipe out Islamic Jihads capabilities.
You can run but you can't hide. Good shooting Israel.
Terrorists-5
Israelies -1
That's no way to defend yourself from attacks. Couldn't they have taken out some family members too?
Now, kill everyone in his family...one at a time over about one years time.
Don't worry. The rest of the familiy is already getting in line.
GEE, and I was wondering why I J decided to stop attacks coming from Gaza...... Maybe they are finally getting the picture that this isn't their daddy's Jihad anymore.
Sharon told them that attacks from gaza would be met with relentless return fire. He meant it. I for one am glad to see it. Jihad they want .....SO BE IT....Jihad they get.
OH and no more crying when they get their butts kicked!
YNet update:
IDF kills 2 Islamic Jihad terrorists
Elite forces acting on intelligence information hunt down wanted Islamic Jihad members in West Bank town of Kabatiya; Hadera bombing mastermind apparently evades troops. Earlier, PA says it struck deal with terrorists to end Gaza attacks

Elite IDF soldiers killed two Islamic Jihad terrorists in a shootout near Jenin Sunday evening, Palestinian security sources reported.
However, the mastermind of the Hadera suicide bombing apparently managed to evade troops operating in the West Bank town of Kabatiya, Palestinian sources say. The mastermind has been identified as Iyad Abu al-Rob, the Islamic Jihads commander in Kabatiya
The Islamic Jihad announced it intends to avenge the killing of two of the organization's members, identified as Arshadan Kamal and Jihad al-Sahui Zakarne. "The residents of the Israeli communities near the West Bank will have no security as long as members of the organization are being killed," a message by the group read.
Meanwhile, two Qassam rockets were fired from the northern Gaza Strip towards Israeli territory, Palestinian sources said, despite an earlier announcement about an internal Palestinian deal that would see an end to Gaza-based attacks.
'Pressure cooker'
Forces acting on intelligence information launched an operation in the town of Kabatiya around 6 p.m. on suspicion that wanted terror suspects involved in the Hadera bombing were hiding in one of the houses in town.
The troops called on the suspects to turn themselves in, but in response the Palestinians began firing at the soldiers. The troops then resorted to the pressure cooker tactic, surrounding the house while using a heavy bulldozer. At that point, four men, a woman, and two children left the house.
According to IDF estimates, senior terror suspects are hiding in the area. Notably, the suicide bomber who detonated himself in Hadera last week was also a resident of Kabatiya.
Earlier, Palestinian sources reported a fierce shootout in the area involving IDF troops and armed Palestinians belonging to various terror groups in the town.
The Jenin and Tul Karem area is home to many Islamic Jihad activists. Abu al-Muamen, one of the groups leaders in the West Bank, claimed responsibility for the bombing in Hadera last week that killed five people.
No more Gaza attacks?
Earlier, the Palestinian Authority announced that it reached an agreement with the various factions and terror organizations whereby they would refrain from launching Qassam rocket or terror attacks from Gaza against Israel.
The official announcement was made to representatives of the Quartet, which includes the U.S., the EU, Russia and the U.N.
Later, senior Islamic Jihad leader in Gaza Khaled al-Batash confirmed that his group agreed to end Qassam rocket attacks from Gaza.
Al-Batash told journalists in the Strip the Islamic Jihad accepts the agreement reached with the Palestinian Authority and noted his group would honor the deal as long as Israel ends its Gaza attacks.
Hamas also confirmed an agreement was reached and said it was committed to the lull in violence.
