What are the chances of a primary challenge for DeWine anyway? Last I heard no one was willing to step up.

Former AK Steel president John Hritz declared to run against DeWine then got made an offer to run for a lower statewide office and took the offer. So far there is no credible challenger and John Kasich is unlikely to step up. Former Congressman Bob McEwen might step up to plate, especially if DeWine goes wabbly again. That last part is my speculation.

Too bad about Hritz.

If someone would declare against him, DeWine would be guarenteed to lose the primary. As is, his chances of re-election are chancy already given conservative hostility.

Take a look at Luttig's concurring opinion in APRIL LOVE, v. ROBERT G. PEPERSACK, SR.; No. 94-1582 MERRILL A. MESSICK, JR.; ERNEST ELDON PLETCHER; ELMER HUNT TIPPETT, JR.; STATE OF MARYLAND, where he allows to stand without comment the collectivist right school of thought vis a vis the second amendment.

Then take a peek at McCorvey V Hill where she concurs as well with the majority but then goes on to rip the constitutional matter at hand a new orifice.

Then tell me which is the "principled conservative".

Alito similarly takes a principled stand vis a vis the commerce clause and machine guns. And btw, most sodiers and marines are outfitted with M16's or variants thereof. That is the foot soldier and marines standard fare. It is classified a machine gun. Surely, the second amendment provides for soldiers and marines having the same weapon in their gun rack at home that they carried when on active duty or else the second amendment means nothing.
