Other than the religiously-based warfare associated with the separation of India and Pakistan, there hasn't been a lot of Islamic "extremism" since the Mongols cleaned out the Sect of the Assassins (who were Persian Shiites, btw).
This is so incorrect. Have you ever heard of Muhmad Ghaznavi, Muhammad Ghori, Aurangazeb, and Babur among others? Have you not heard of the estimated 60+ million who were killed in India by muslims between 1150 and 1750? Ever heard of Somnath, Ayodhya, and Kashi? Obviously not. FReeper familyop is right with his observations. Though your analysis is interesting, I'm afraid it is wrong.

Thank you for that. So many of us--including myself--need to study more history. I've only read some of the colonial and Ancient (with too little of the Medieval).

Have you not heard of the estimated 60+ million who were killed in India by muslims between 1150 and 1750? Sixty million...? That's 100,000 per year, continuous average, over 600 years. Sounds wildly over the top. Can you point me to a source?
No, I hadn't heard of the place-names or events you mention.
