At least five people are feared dead and many wounded in two powerful explosions in busy markets in the Indian capital, Delhi. Police say the first occurred in Paharganj, in the heart of the city.
The second took place in Sarojini Nagar, south of the city centre.
Rescue teams and police have rushed to the scenes. The markets were crowded with people shopping ahead of Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights.
There are also unconfirmed reports that there has been a third blast in another part of Delhi. A police official, who wished to remain unnamed, told the BBC News Website that at least six to seven people died in the blast in Paharganj, and 40 others were injured.

Buddhists or Baptists or Jains or Mormons, perhaps.
It certainly counldn't be the Religion of Peace that provoked such mad behavior.
Never, Allah forbid, Mudslimes, the practitioners of the "religion of peace."

Frankly, I think that it was an active hooter brooder cell based out of austria. the meinkopf gang.
they too are going through a rennaisance.
No mention of the RoP. Toward the end they speculate about fireworks! In three separate locations around town! What Maroons!
While the Indian government faces opposition from dozens of militant organizations from tiny fringe organizations to well-armed Kashmiri rebel groups there was no immediate official word that the explosions had been caused by bombs.

In addition, fireworks are widely used to celebrate the upcoming Hindu festival, Diwali, and many markets are now crowded with stalls selling elaborate and often very dangerous fireworks.
What! - it reads as though they assigned the travel writer to the story.
Indian authorities have long confirmed it to be a planned terror attack. I guess dhimmies have crept into Fox News.
This is ridiculous!
Muslims hate Christians and jews, true enough. But they save a particular nasty hatred for "unbelievers" (people not "of the book", think Hindus and Buddists).
Link this hatred with the ongoing troubles with the Paks.

By the late 18th cent. the Sikhs had conquered most of the Punjab and established various feudal states; their greatest leader was Ranjit Singh (17801839), who established a Sikh kingdom in the Punjab. After his death, conflict with the British caused the Sikh Wars and the subjugation of the Punjab, after which Sikh soldiers formed a significant part of the British armies in India. Despite Sikh protests, the 1947 partition of the Indian subcontinent divided their homeland. Militant Sikhs and Hindu Jats fought the Muslims of Punjab in a struggle that resulted in over a million casualties. Some 2.5 million Sikhs migrated from West Punjab (in Pakistan) into East Punjab (in India). The years immediately following partition brought a period of relative stability and prosperity.
United States, 2000s Following the September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attack some Americans turned on Sikhs. They mistook symbols of religious belief, such as turbans and beards, for the garb of those who carried out the terrorist attacks. Some vigilantes in the United States threatened and hurt individuals within the Sikh community. In the months after 9-11, the Sikh community received nearly 300 reported incidents of threats, assaults, violence, and even death. While these incidents do not constitute persecution of Sikhs per se, but rather persecution for perceived adherence to Islam, they illustrate a profound lack of awareness of the traditions of the Sikh and the Islamic community. This persecution is ironic since Sikhs fought the Moghuls, followers of the Islamic faith, in India for many years. It is also important that this desultory 'persecution' not obscure the fact that hundreds of thousands of Sikh-Americans live in the United States and enjoy the highest levels of respect and religious tolerance. Still, many Americans are relatively unaware of the Sikhs population in the United States and often times mistake them for practitioners of Islam. SikhNet (http://www.sikhnet.com) has been a constant presence for educating people about Sikhs and raising awareness of Sikh values and indentity.
The U.S. senate issued a resolution which condemns bigotry against Sikh-Americans. The texts of Senate Concurrent Resolution 74 and the introductory statement by Senator Richard Durbin from the October 2 Congressional Record are available here:
5% of Fox News is now owned by the Saudi prince who praised the 911 hijackers. Murdoch sold him the share and it is likely that he'll pick up a greater stake. Unfortunate that Fox is being dhimmified too.
BTTT
LOL. In retrospect, it sure does.
As an aside, when did the term capitol become passe? When I was growing up, in the stone age, we learned that capitol was a seat of government or government building and capital was money or the name for upper case letters. When did that change, or was my education limited, or, more likely, is my memory failing?
'Twas ever thus.
Oh geez, it's those crazy Amish bombers again.
NEW DELHI (AP) - Near-simultaneous explosions rocked the Indian capital Saturday evening, tearing through a bus and two markets crowded with people shopping for gifts for a Hindu festival. At least 58 people were killed and dozens wounded in the blasts, which the government blamed on terrorists.
