Feel better? :') If it helps I hated my second grade teacher too. I was a day dreamer and was gazing out the window. She thought I was looking at someones paper and cheating. She popped me on my hand with a ruler, embarrassed me and got me in trouble at home. I wish her no harm but when I had kids I never took a teachers word just because and always got both sides of the story. A couple of times the teachers were wrong.

Yeah, I feel better. I always get bent out of shape during these discussions. There are a lot of reasons we don't send our son to public school, but one of those reasons is certainly my past experience with this foolish woman. She wouldn't have been tolerated anywhere other than the public sector.

The end of the story: The next time she ordered me up for my "licks" I walked to the front of the room, looked her in the eye, and said, "NO." Taking into account my age and her reputation, it is the bravest thing I have ever done in my life.

My Dad, when informed, backed me up. It threw the school into a bit of a tizzy, and some sort of investigation followed. I don't know how all that worked out, but I know one thing: her paddling days were over.
