Truly, drive 100 miles south of here in Lincoln, NE, and you're back in the early 19th century.
"Perhaps you've missed this, but the Kansas school board has been taken over by fundamentalists, who've added scientifically nonsensical content to the biology curriculum, to make it conform with the addled theories of the Discovery Institute. It's so bad, in fact, that the National Academy of Sciences has refused to let Kansas use any of it's copyrighted material to draw up their new standards.

Oh this is nice. Insult the entire region and pretend like you know more than most of them.
The National Academy of Sciences is "cutting off their nose to spite their face." If they are interested in providing the evidence for evolution of the students then they should allow the use of this information. By failing to provide the information they inhibit the education of the students in the manner they prefer.
You are so ignorant that you do not understand the state curriculum means nothing.
The State Board is not a big deal in Kansas.
I can guarantee you virtually no schools will stop teaching evolution if this passes. In fact, I would be shocked if even one stopped teaching evolution.
Local districts will continue to teach it.
