I disagree with homosexual priests and ministers but it seems to me that the church is the one thing that homosexuals should not be denied.
Jesus reminded us to beware of evil and evil doers. He did not say for us to let satanists, homos and evil doers into our church but the exact opposite. People who are seeking the lord are welcome but must discard their evil ways. To attend a Church while you are a practicing child molester, homo, or satanist is against the teachings - we as Christians are to protect one another from this evil.
If you think this is the case then why did Paul make such a strong case against Christians marrying unbelievers?
See post #47.
It is a matter of the homosexual wanted that church to acept him with his selected lifestyle as normal. He wanted to join that church with the condition that the Christian priest must convert to the politically correct though of "homosexuality is a normal sex practice."
Now the homosexual is trying to FORCE the priest to convert to the PC police theology.
The man was free to join IF he accepted the fact that this church teaches homosexuality is a deviance and wrong.
The homosexual did this to cause problems, he could have easily gone down the street to any number of "chinese menu" churches. (I will have a bit of religion from column 3 and 5 and 9 but nothing from the other parts of the menu)
I don't think anyone is telling the homosexual man that he can't come. If he had truly repented of it and was working hard to get a handle on his sexuality I would happily support him for membership in my church. But if he remained unrepentant of his homosexual behavior, the church has its witness to the world to think about and they should allow him to become a formal member.
Though of course no one should stop him from coming as long as doesn't come to divide the church and make a scene.
