I would prefer to know --- WHO wrote that law that made it illegal to lie when you are NOT under oath to begin with?

That would be the ones I would be considering charges for treasonous action for attempting to overthrow our Constitutional Republic.

Talk about unconstitutional and un-American!

The only other law that approaches this for audacity and, pardon me, dictatorial fascist laws, is the one that makes it a crime to run awat from the police after you commit a crime.

It all falls under "thought-crime" laws. You cannot control an honest lawful man, so therefore you must make all men unlawful so you can control them. (or words to that effect). The premise of communism and all other forms of tyranny.

A poll is the truest form of democracy, the rule of fools by fools.

Corruption in government is undesirable no matter which party holds the White House.

But it is impossible to care about this "scandal" when the last administration held 900 or so FBI files on its political opponents in the White House -- each one of which constituted as single felony -- and NOBODY went to prison.

At that point I concluded that the American people are being cranked big time.

You'd be disappointed if I voted. If Libby lied under oath he deserves to be prosecuted. Just like BJC deserved it.

I do think that purjury, obstruction of justice, and lying to a Grand Jury should all be taken seriously and they are crimes. Almost everyone on Free Republic would have agreed a half-decade ago. Justice shouldn't be partisan and just because Bill Clinton got away with not only lying to a Grand Jury but also likely sexual harassment and rape (if not more, if you believe the worst conspiracy theories) does not mean we should excuse Republicans from purjury and so forth. Would we excuse a Bush or Cheney aid if they sexually harassed a woman or raped her, too, just because we think Bill Clinton got away with it? Two wrongs don't make a right and all that.

Please also note that this man will get his day in court and if he's innocent, hopefully he can prove it. If there is anyone we should be pointing fingers at, it's the mainstream media because they are the ones with the partisan double-standard.

The funny thing about CNN.com polls. If you vote against their own slanted position, the vote doesn't even tally. I checked the totals both before and after voting, and the numbers didn't even change.

I voted yes. If this prosecutor and grand jury felt Libby should be indicted, then indictments should go forward.

There is a presumption of innocence until Fitzgerald can prove otherwise.

If the allegations prove true and Libby is guilty, he has betrayed conservatives, his boss, his President, the Reagan Revolution and anyone who calls himself a FReeper.
